Love Is In The Meme

a box full of junk

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for The Nest to hijack some unsuspecting blogger’s post and feed it into the Randomator so we can turn it into something much more fucked up in another exciting edition of Random Image Inspiration!  Y’all know how this works by now, so let’s get right to those magical random numbers!

29, 96, 51, 70

The 29th post in my Reader was this one by River Girl

The 96th word in that post (wrapping around) is “like”

The 51st word in that post is “anyone”

There’s a pretty cute little search string.  Putting “like anyone” into Google Images brought this up as the 70th result…

As soon as I saw the slew of shitty ass memes, I knew the Randomator would latch onto one of them.  Ugh.

I fucking hate these things.  These sappy ass, motivational speakeresque, flowery prosed garbage that are the bane of every social media wasteland in existence that allows for unfettered sharing with your friends and followers.  They remind me of those birthday cards your grandma used to get for you when you were her precious little hellion of a grandchild… you know, if you actually bothered to read the damned things before you snatched the five dollar bill out of them and hit up the candy store…

Buster knows what I’m talking about.

I am not Pollyanna, and I am certainly not here to motivate you to become a better person.  That burden is entirely on you.  So let’s throw these schmaltzy ass, sparkly images out in the dumpster where they belong and instead invite my highly inspirational Shelf Critter Theatre team to offer up their words of wisdom that you are free to share with someone in your life who needs a little pick me up…. or more appropriately, a kick in the fucking ass!

die possum die!

Ah, there’s something to help you choke down your morning joe…

For once, I absolutely agree with you, Snuggle…

Take THAT, all you fucking YOLO rebels out there…

Yeah mom, what was up with that?

Oh, I knew I shouldn’t have invited you to create a meme…

Sometimes us grumps would like you to stick your sunshine where it doesn’t, if you know what I mean…

Words to live by…

Yeah, stop cramping my 4:20, dude!

And leave it to Mitzi to bring us full circle… and no, not circle jerk.

We’ll shake thing up again next Wednesday and try to be just as inspiring…

  1. poor buster… a card without moneeh is… to die for… sigh…

  2. Well done! The Shelf’s memes are WAY more interesting than the stuff I see “around”. Makes me wonder what they’d come up with if they wrote a cheer or two for the Teaser Cheer Team. Might be scary.

    • I’ll bet “Uncle” Snuggie would look great in a skirt. In fact, I’ll bet Big Scrat would just adore him in his little cheer outfit. Oh, and Mitzi says the uniforms have too much material…

  3. Ally Bean says:

You know if it weren’t for you and River I don’t think I’d ever see a meme. You both knock ’em out of the park on your blogs– like anyone else could ever do them so well.

  4. draliman says:

As always, Mr Fox steals the show. I don’t know what he’s saying but his words are somehow burned into my brain anyway.

  5. Merbear74 says:

This reminds me of my own un-inspirational memes that I made back in the day.

  6. Sorry my post didn’t have more interesting words for you!

    • I like that the words your post “picked” kinda went together. Probably the second best combo next to two really obscure words. And as Ally alluded to, it’s funny your post led to a meme…

  7. Trisha says:

The shelf critter gang makes much better memes than the rest of the internet!

  8. That’s the problem with rules-sometimes they bite you in the backend. Hopefully the schmaltz has heretofore been eliminated. For good. I’m with you on the syrupy drivel. Blech 🤮and no, I’m not bitter in the slightest. Ok, well maybe just a tad. LOL
