Share Your World – Week 22

The five day forecast is brought to you by Rainy, and will feature more of this.

Tuesday is the day that The Nest shares its world…. although I’d be more inclined today to just say you can have my world.  Work’s been icky, the weather’s been icky, my town’s being overrun by bandwagoning hockey fans…. enough!  It’s time for some escapism in the form of Melanie’s weekly SYW questions!  Time to flip a finger or ten to the world…

Haaaaaaaaaaaaands across the water! Water…

Do you think there is such a thing as a ‘gendered’ brain?

Whether it’s the brain or something else in the body, there is absolutely something that makes most men act like “men” and most women act like “women.”  Don’t ask me to elaborate, but don’t insult everyone’s intelligence by saying Venus and Mars don’t exist because it presumes some form of gender inequality…

Snuggle Bear is a male.  Like pretty much every male who wasn’t castrated at birth, Snuggle thinks about sex every six seconds.  It’s what guys do… don’t demonize us for it.

Mitzi is a female.  Like pretty much every female, Mitzi…

MITZI: Mitzi, like, totally thinks about sex-ay times every six seconds too!  Even oftener, since Mitzi can’t, like, tell time anyway!

SNUGGLE: Fuck yeah!  I like a chick who thinks like a man!

MITZI: Then, like, totally put your big hand and your little hand on Mitzi’s knobs and wind her up!

Mitzi!  She takes a licking, and keeps on ticking!®

What is the silliest fear you have?

The only real fear I have is of lightning, which I don’t think is silly at all… though I’m definitely a lot more unwilling to be outside if it even looks like there may be lightning than most other people.

I’d have never got back to 1985.

There is one kind of silly worry I have that I even once alluded to on this blog before.  When I am eating hot food, I have a somewhat irrational fear that I’m going to end up faceplanting into the plate… and if you think about what it would be like to have your face covered in hot food….. ick!  This is prevalent enough that I will often move my plate over just enough to where it’s not directly in front of me…

That may be bad table manners, but my cats don’t mind.

Out of your family members, who are you closest to?

It would be my Mom now, who I have lunch with every Thursday and take on the occasional errand.  I see my youngest sister a lot as well since she’s still in town and is the primary companion for my Mom.  I’m not much on social calls and don’t do Nosybook at all, so although I’m on good terms with the rest of my family, I rarely ever interact with them…

My four sisters. Pity the poor, oldest, only boy…

What is something you’ll NEVER do again?

Click on that flashy little ad that pops up and says I’m the ONE MILLIONTH VISITOR to this site and I need to click here to claim my FANTASTIC PRIZE!  Ah, the olden days of a naive internet newbie.  Actually, thanks to my popup blocker, I really never will do that again…

Don’t click it, Snuggle! She’s loaded with viruses!

If you’d like, please share a photo or a comment about something good that’s happened recently!

I got a $52 refund check in the mail after my insurance agent found something on my home policy that shouldn’t have been there.  That’s about as good as it gets this week….

Hopefully I won’t spend it all in one place…

  1. I’m with you I never want to be the winner of anything online…whatever you win the nerves your will lose are ginormous…

  2. Sorry you’ve had an icky week, especially because of the weather. So here I go…
Silliest fear – The Nun, I wasn’t afraid of anything poltergeist-ish whatsoever, then my son talked me into watching the movie the Nun, and now……..it’s just, stupid but that’s my silliest fear, lol.
Closest Family member – all three of my boys, I am very close to my sons. I mean not in a Norman Bates type close but we see and talk to each other everyday. Mainly because one lives with me and the other two live only a couple of blocks away and THEY’RE ALWAYS AT MY HOUSE!
Something I’ll never do again – Eat cilantro, I hate it, it’s sucks and I’ll never eat it, use it, look at it or touch it again…ever. It’s a nasty weed that needs to be eradicated from this earth!

    • Any kind of horror movie will do me in. My Mom loved watching those movies, so I saw plenty of them as a kid and they all scared the crap out of me. Especially the slasher flicks… which is ironic given that I now have Buster who I kill off (often in gory ways) in all of my SCT episodes!

  3. Thanks ES for Sharing Your Tuesday World…. um. I WAS going to comment, individually on each of your pictures, but then I got to Snuggle and Mitzi proving to us why there are such things as ‘gendered’…whatevers..and I was gob-smacked. Henry was asked to leave the room, as he is a young hedgehog and that was definitely in the ‘adult’ picture category. 😐 For a guy with no twigs nor berries, that Snuggle sure gets around. I’m a little awe struck. Squirrelina asked if you have private chat rooms, because she’d like to chat (yeah right) with Snuggle and that really really cute donkey that’s popped up now and then when he can ditch his missus.

    • The Snuggle and MItzi boinking on the giant Kool Aid Man pitcher is a Nest classic! A perfect portrait of just what you’re getting into by hanging around The Shelf. I’m sure MItzi has a private line she talks dirty to people on, but you’ll have to check the stalls in the public restroom to find the number…

  4. Rain? We’ve finally had some sun but rain coming back tomorrow….it just can’t stay away. I don’t have a particular fear these days – maybe at my age I could say that I’m afraid I’ll fall down the stairs – we have three flights of them in our house…..the laundry basket is getting heavier and heavier and going down those stairs…….well……..OK – maybe I definitely have a fear! Loved seeing your sisters – were you oldest or youngest? Did they spoil you or drive you nuts?

    Pam

    • I haven’t checked to see if it’s been updated, but the forecast last night called for off and on rain through SUNDAY. While the flip side is we’ve hardly seen any really hot weather so far this year, I’ll take that heat if it means we can dry out for a week or so. I am the oldest, and my sisters drove me nuts. Yes, I blame them for the way I am!

  5. draliman says:

Lightning? Why are you scared of being hit by millions of volts and burned to a crisp in agony? You should get yourself a normal fear like spiders.
Am I mis-remembering, or didn’t Snuggle get castrated at one point?

    • Snuggle was nutless for his appearance as the Lion in the Wizard of Oz…. but Fuzzywig also got chopped off in the vet episode. Thanks to the Buster Rule, every critter gets a fresh start in each episode…

  6. Merbear74 says:

    We’re so sorry, Uncle Albert.

  7. And insurance company that refunded something?! That day should be circled on the calendar!

  8. Quirky Girl says:

“Mitzi! She takes a licking, and keeps on ticking!®”

I’m inclined to think lightning is far less terrifying than the prospect of this particular line having a registered trademark. But it is catchy, I’ll admit. 😛
