Here’s another vintage squirrel photo pulled from the backpages of my archive, featuring a pair of the critters playing around on one of the limbs of my oak tree… most likely a scene from a chase. The way the bottom squirrel is hanging on upside down while his bushy tail dangles straight below him looks kinda cool. But the most amazing thing about this photo is how both of those squirrels are effectively on the same lower limb… which isn’t very thick… and yet it’s supporting both of those acorn depositories without giving or breaking! The ultimate proof that Saturday Squirrels really aren’t fat, they’re just extra fluffy.
Have a great weekend everyone!
No better entertainment than watching 2 squirrels chase each other up and down trees. Wish I had that energy…
It’s a lot of fun. And one of us would get killed if we tried it…
Agreed.
That really is a great photo – that bottom squirrel’s tail is probably the most “perfect” squirrel tail I’ve seen….most show some “wear and tear” but this guy obviously takes good care of his! Amazing that branch is holding them both – one false move and CRASH.

I don’t notice a lot of scars on my squirrels… which certainly isn’t because they don’t fight. Maybe they just know the same people that keep Mitzi looking so good…
Judging from the floofy tails, I’m guessing the humidity is a bit high. 🐿
Maybe that squirrel found a discarded can of Aqua Net?
Ahh yes, squirrel tag, nothing like it! Lol
It’s all fun and games until someone falls out of the tree…
They hardly weigh anything. Hard to believe considering their ability to eat everything they can as quickly as possible. Nice healthy fluffer nutters.
They’re full of helium and fairy dust…
Well, let’s hope it doesn’t end in tears…
Big squirrels don’t cry…
They sure are extra fluffy. That tail hanging down is huge! The squirrels around here aren’t that fluffy during the seasons when green leaves are on the trees. The tails I’ve been seeing are looking a bit ratty!
Do circuses ever employee squirrels? That bottom squirrel exhibits such finesse, surely he would be a natural acrobat!
