As I was perusing my old squirrel pictures for my Calendar Squirrel feature (If you haven’t already, don’t forget to vote for Mr. or Ms. February!), I came across a rather funny photo that I almost included for the hell of it in the calendar competition… but decided to save for this week’s Saturday Squirrel instead. I love the way the branch goes right in front of this squirrel’s eyes… almost completely obscuring his peepers, and nothing else! It’s almost like one of those little censored bars they put over the eyes in a photo to protect someone’s identity. You can’t see him if he can’t see you, right?
Have a great weekend everybody!
Ha! Love it…
Blind squirrel finds an audience!
That’s a good one – reminds me of how little kids think if they cover their eyes we can’t see them simply because they can’t see US. Wonder if Mr. or Ms. Squirrel was employing that thought??
Pam
I hope he doesn’t try that one out on the local hawk…
Love this photo. I just reminded a friend of ours that I will be over to harvest his acorns this fall – he has TONS of them in his lawn and if I feed my squirrels they don’t eat the birdseed! My husband’s complaint is that they dig holes in the front lawn to hide them – I told him they are aerating the soil.
Yep, it’s definitely acorn season since they’ve been bopping off my roof for the past few days. It’s always best to look at the sunny side of squirrels!
So is that technically a squirrel’s version of an ostrich?🐿
What, no ostrich emoji? Or is it hidden too?
I think he’s hiding on purpose from the camera, lol. He’s a cutie for sure!
The squirrel paparazzi strikes again…
We have concealed the identity of this squirrel to protect his nut stash…
I recognize him! That’s the squirrel with no eyes!
Not being able to see his eyes makes me realize just how cute their little noses are! And all that winter fluff. So adorable. I can’t wait until the squirrels start getting their winter coats back.
I love the fluff! I wonder if they shed as bad as cats do in the summer. I’ve been thinking about that a lot since I got a new box fan for this room about a month ago that actually blows out air you can feel… and everytime I pet Ody sitting on the SCT stage next to me, gigantic clumps of black fur fly up into the air and circulate around the room! It’s like a furnado!
But … it’s only September. You mean I can’t vote until February?
You can vote anytime up until midnight tonight! Then we’ll do March, and maybe by the end of the year, the months will catch up to the calendar…
