Squirrels must have zones. I’ve lived in my apartment 16 years and don’t remember seeing a squirrel here–we do have trees.
I don’t really remember squirrels in the industrial area I grew up in either, though they’re there now. There’s probably chunks of the country they’re not too common in as well. I know one of my readers from Texas says they’re not in her area…
