Now if this isn’t the magic of the holiday season, I don’t know what it could possibly be. This squirrel has found a peanut, and he wants to give it to someone very special rather than keeping it for himself! What a sweetie! It truly is better to give than to receive, little buddy.
That Christmas can being out the generosity of even notorious hoarders such as squirrels is a true testament to the power that the season of giving can….
Hey, wait a minute! Where are you going with my gift!?!?!? Come back here!!!
Well, a bah humbug to you too, you greedy Saturday Squirrel! I guess if nothing else, you’ve at least given us a few more adorably cute photos to entertain my sciurine fan club with…
Have a great weekend everyone!
I bet he’s rushing home to put that acorn in his storage pantry saving it for Christmas dinner. Yeah….sure.
Pam
If by “storage” you mean “his belly”…. yes, I believe you are right!
mmmmmm – found a peanut, found a peanut, found a peanut just now …. hahaha now I have that song in my head – thanks for that!
No, really, thanks for all your photos of squirrels – they make me smile.
Happy Saturday! 🙂
I don’t know that song, and I’m not sure if I want to look it up or not! I love taking and sharing these pictures, and they are the one thing on my blog that has never changed over the years….
Love that first picture. So sweet!
It’s so cute how he looks like he’s offering the peanut to someone! So un-squirrel-like…
How’s that expression go…from little acorns comes oodles of squirrels? 🙂
If that were true, I’d be growing lots of squirrels in my yard…
We have a black walnut tree on our property that the squirrels just love–the only problem is that they bury them all over the place and then forget about them. We’re constantly digging up the saplings!
Squirrels are widely recognized as the planters of forests for that very reason! Many trees literally depend on hoarder critters like squirrels to regenerate…. they’ve been doing it for thousands and thousands of years!
Except with their own babies — which is pretty brief — and our pets, animals don’t get the point of sharing. Food if for eating. And eating. And eating.
I get that instinct. I have it too…
Little buggar, he’s talking home for his New Years shindig, lol.
I hope he doesn’t expect to find any champagne in my yard…
Did you really want a stray peanut? Did you? Though that doesn’t forgive that tease of a squirrel.
Well, I was pretty hungry. Actually, I was quite impressed, because I think there was one peanut with the cup full of food I threw out for them, and he found it among the dead foliage right away…
