The above photo isn’t a great one, because my camera decided not to focus on the squirrel sitting very cutely on my neighbor’s fence post. That happens a lot when I’ve tried to take pictures of squirrels on the fence in the past…
But I posted this photo of the fuzzy fuzzball not to revel in another failure of my shitty photography…. but because the very next picture I took of that squirrel is so freaking cool! I zoomed in closer, hoping it would force the camera to focus on the squirrel, and right as the photo took….. the squirrel leaped up into the tree branch hanging above!
You can actually see the squirrel’s toes rather well…. and then a very elongated and blurry shape of the squirrel’s lower body! Now I wish I hadn’t zoomed in…. but had I not, I wouldn’t have caught the exact moment he jumped. Just a quickie Saturday Squirrel share for you all as I endure another few days in the Stone Age of indoor plumbing…
Have a great weekend everyone!
That’s a pretty cool capture! 🙂
Thanks! I laughed when I saw it on the camera screen!
Wow that is an action shot – the blur implies great speed and nothing’s faster than a squirrel on a mission!
Pam
And the tree branch is pretty far above that fence post. I wasn’t expecting him to jump at all… but he sure was motivated to get at something!
…faster than a speeding bullet…more powerful than a locomotive…able to leap tall fences in a single bound….look up in the sky it’s Super Squirrel! 🐿
I’m not sure if blue tights would make the photo look better than it is…
That action photo is amazing!
It is! They are faster than a camera shutter…. or at least the crappy one I have.
Squirrel jumping into an alternate universe.
Maybe going back to the future…
New Saturday squirrel title, specter squirrel! It’s a great shot Evil, really. 😉
Thanks! It’s cool looking and funny at the same time…
Hahaha He’s really The Flash, in Squirrel costume.
That’s what he looks like!
There is a word for photography like that. I just don’t remember what it’s called, but it’s very cool. I happens when the shutter is a little slower than the aperture or whatever they call film speed these days. Sometimes, if you turn the picture black and white, you get a better visual of the ghostly squirrel. Hang on in there. Any day you’ll have a bathroom. Meanwhile, there’s always kitty litter.
And I’m almost ready to use that kitty litter….
That’s so cool how you can see his toes! I get so pissed at my camera when it won’t focus on a squirrel. I can see a tiny bird but a freaking squirrel with winter fluff? They’re not that small! But it worked out good for you this time.
The worst shot for this is when I try to take a picture of them walking on a wire…. it absolutely will NOT focus on the squirrel. Every wire photo I have has blurry squirrels in it. Or maybe they’re harnessing the electricity to automatically blur their images?
Now you see him…! Almost every picture I ever tried to take of a squirrel looks a bit like that…
