Don’t judge me… I’m from the South.
The only critters who are entitled to wear real fur are those critters who grow their own… and this squirrel has amassed quite the fluffy blanket over himself. That’s not unusual in itself… squirrels remain active during the winter months, and need all of that bulk fluff to 
keep from freezing to death. Winter squirrels always look extra cute due to their furry exteriors….
However what’s a bit odd in this situation is that you can see greenery sprouting up all around this squirrel. In fact, I took this photo at the park last April 10th, by which time Spring has usually sprung enough to reduce the coats of squirrels to somewhat more normal levels.
But not this guy… he wants to be ready for that last surprise cold snap that seems to hit every late April. Or maybe he’s just more fashionable than his peers. Either way, this adorable little fuzzball should warm the hearts of all of my Saturday Squirrel readers, regardless of the current season…

He does have a “healthy” coat – I’m sure he knows not to count on early Spring weather – those nights even in a squirrel nest can be chilly and his Mrs. probably enjoys snuggling up with Mr. Fuzzy at night.

He is cute, and he knows the weather will be cold in April, too. I agree the only ones who have the right to have a fur coat, must grow it by themselves.
You never know when it will get cold. I have seen my breath before in July and had to wear my jacket in August…
What a fluffy fellow! Our critters have made a comeback after a thin year last year.
No doubt helped by all of those extra acorns!

Given his level of fluff, I’d say he’s probably vacationing in your fine city. Probably a hoodlum from snowier climes looking for some of that green good stuff.
We appreciate all tourist dollars here in my city…. even those from squirrels.
