Here’s a photo of a squirrel from a few years ago that I dug up from my archive that’s a bit unnerving. That look on the squirrel’s face…. shudder! If looks could kill, I wouldn’t be 
writing this post now. That sinister look in his beady eyes. The annoyed expression. The “you’ll get what’s coming to you” smirk on his face. All because I happen to be interrupting his snack. Sorry, dude! Please don’t hurt me! I can tell you’re a pretty badass squirrel, with maybe a touch of psycho killer in you…. but even when you look like a Bond villain plotting his next move, you’re still awful darned cute. Cute enough to be featured as this week’s Saturday Squirrel!

Awww……I think this guy is adorable and looks to me like he’s just minding his own business, having breakfast (or lunch or dinner) when Mr. Human comes along with a camera – he stopped eating long enough to allow a photo to be taken – – – very cooperative model I’d say!

Mr. Squirrel in the tree does look a tad annoyed and I can sympathize. I don’t want somebody bothering ME in mid nosh. So he could be forgiven…and yes, he is awfully cute, posed on his branch that way, with his furry tail providing a warm soft place to lean and eat. He looks very well fed too, so I bet his nut count is pretty impressive…
He probably intimidates the nuts out of the other squirrels. Actually, anyone who’s seen a group of squirrels at a feeder knows the alpha gets what he wants while the others either wait, or risk their tails trying to sneak some…

How to take down the nature paparazzi…
I have a set of woodpeckers who always look like that. They are the original Angry Birds and the other birds don’t mess with them. For that matter, I don’t mess with them.
I don’t think I’d mess with happy looking woodpeckers. That beak is definitely to be respected…

I’m probably lucky I didn’t get one of those fuzzy little fingers raised in my direction. Actually, make that unlucky. That would be such a cute photo with this guy’s face….
That squirrel would be a lot more adorable if he didn’t look like he was plotting your death. Yeah, that’s definitely a wee bit unnerving. Whew!
