It’s been a while since I’ve featured a comic flashback…. and this one is certainly timely. I can’t even remember exactly what the deadly disease du jour was four years ago that inspired it… but like every other mass hysteria pandemic they like to scare us with on the news, I survived it, and so did you! And those who did survived it loved this comic, making it one of my favorites as well…
This was Comic #214…
I miss your comics so thanks for sharing one here. I do like the idea of having a permanent record. It sounds so old school, doesn’t it?
There is nothing more permanent than the permanent record. I’m sure all of those days I had to stay after school will be read off during the eulogy at my funeral…
So timely, really! WHO just said that we will all get sick or something like that.
You had dropped again from my reader, maybe that virus or WP don’t want me to see your blog.
WP seems to have those viruses a lot. I’ve had people dropped from my reader, even those it says I’m still following. Glad to see you have found your way back to the Nest…
Just came back from a Caribbean vacay yesterday and there were a number of people wearing masks there and at the airport. You can’t buy one in town, they continue to fly of the shelves (along with everyone’s collective brains).
Yeah, because those cheap paper face masks will stop the killer virus from melting their vital organs into lumpy porridge…
Hope springs eternal, or so they tell me.
Great comic and so true! 🙂
So true again and again and again….
Maybe it was the movie Pandemic? That came out 2016.
No, it was on the real news. I remember they canceled a baseball game that was going to be played in Puerto Rico just a few days before this comic because of the scare, but I don’t remember what the supposedly scary virus was…
I love all the little details…the subliminal messages written on the flyers and so forth that the characters are holding. Excellent work! 😀
I used to chock my comics full of them. They were so much work, but everyone loved them… and I can’t imagine trying to spend all the time I used to on them now.
Gee. I guess you get the “Prophet Award” this week! Whoa ho.
There’s nothing prophetic about predicting the past. History repeats itself again and again and again…
Loved your comics but they really were a whole lot of work! This one is more than appropriate for the virusmania around the world now. There will always be a “bug” on the loose I think – sad but true.
Pam
And the worst side effect those viruses keep causing is intense hysteria, which is a mutation of the human virus. I can’t wait to find out what’s going to kill us all next!
Ask Mitzi – I bet she has her hoof on the pulse of the virus community since she has probably helped to spread a few in her time! 🙂
Trying to keep Mitzi quarantined is like trying to keep a raging bull in a playpen. But it’s the most fun you can have during a pandemic…
Yay, free holiday! Don’t forget the face masks!
There’s nothing quite like a nice, relaxing vacation in isolation…
