If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make them?
Who wants to learn that they were wrong about something? Not many people I know. Mistakes bruise egos, and just give you life experience that the kids won’t listen to you natter on about anyway…

What problem or situation did TV / movies make you think would be common, but when you grew up you found out it wasn’t?
This is a really odd question. Nothing comes to mind… but it does remind me of something I read about 10 years ago as the smartphone revolution was just picking up. One of the more popular plot devices TV shows of the 20th Century used to build episodes around was the out of touch character. Something’s going on that they should know about, but….. we can’t get ahold of them, and chaos is ensuing!!! Completely wiped off the map in the days of the ubiquitous cellphone and wide net of social media contact that has helped turn TV into the boring wasteland it no doubt must be…
You know, if I ever watched TV anymore…
If you drive, do you speed when no one is watching? Have you ever run a red light late at night on purpose, particularly if it doesn’t seem to change very quickly?
Our city if notorious for its traffic lights with windblown sensors that no longer see what they’re supposed to, giving extended green lights to directions with absolutely no cars at all. Nothing frustrates drivers and ties up traffic more than phantom green lights being given every couple minutes to empty side streets. During 2 AM lunch breaks, I have been known to run a couple of these lights when nobody else is around. Hopefully the police don’t read my blog…

After a couple of unseasonably warm days, a cold front blew through last night and it’s utterly gorgeous today. So I spent a couple of hours in the park getting some exercise and taking pictures of the horde of squirrels that were out and about this morning….
Not much. Thank Dog I still work…

Well, watching Dark Shadows while growing up I thought I’d be meeting more vampires than I have and I figured that’d be problematic. Sure I’ve met a few as an adult, but for the most part vampires aren’t everywhere like I thought they’d be.
Hmmmm. Maybe if you kept my hours, you’d meet more vampires. I see a lot of them lurking around Mecca at night in their slippers. Well, not anymore with our new hours, but I assure you, vampires do still creep around out there.
Good answers…..oh – and by the way – I keep forgetting on behalf of all ‘Mericans (that’s the Bush pronunciation) thank you for keeping the supply line at Mecca moving along. And I’m not kidding. I mean it. I have thought about running a red light when there’s no traffic in sight but it freaks me out that you can’t always see those traffic cameras! LOL

I’m on just one end of the supply line… we have a lot of factories and warehouses and truck driving companies around me that are obviously still humming along (and probably at the same breakneck speed we’re trying to), and that seems to be forgotten in the STAY HOME mantra that even in “lockdown” state, it still takes so many people working hard to keep even the basics of life moving along.

I did all kinds of fun illegal thing back when life allowed errors and didn’t raise your insurance to obscene levels. Now that pot is legal, there’s nothing left to do but be within the law. How tragic.
I watched too much Dragnet when I was a kid, and was always too scared to break the law. Even when I run those 2 AM deserted road red lights, I still feel horrible pangs of guilt…

Because isn’t that the name of the possibly now defunct cracker..Chicken Biskits”? Maybe it’s a Utah thang…
We still sell Chicken in a Biskit in the cracker aisle, so it’s not defunct yet! And yeah, I see the hand sanitizer slathered on those hands now. That shit’s on everything I touch now…… ick. I think I’d rather touch the virus…

I hear the FBI’s little-known “naughty drivers” division is looking for you, but they’re having trouble finding “The Nest, America” so you should be okay.
I doubt the FBI could find a Mecca if they were spotted Google Maps, so I won’t worry. They only look smart on crappy TV shows…
Sounds like life goes on…just without red lights and people. May it continue with plenty of TP and sanitizing wipes.
Oh, there’s still plenty of red lights… believe me. I still hit them all both ways to work…
