It’s time to get lost in the infinite pictorial archive that is the internet, and choose one of those JPG’s to become the next item up for bids on this weekly exercise we call Random Image Inspiration! It’s time to roll the bones and see if we can get a Yahtzee…
16, 4, 6, 93
The 16th post in my Reader was this one by Donna
The 4th word in that post is “Dash’s”
The 6th word in that post is “hard”
This selection was almost screaming for a Rainbow Dash photo op. But, as always, RII pulls out another WTF surprise…
Putting “Dash’s hard” into Google Images brought this up as the 93rd result…
“I did it! I got us the tickets!!!”
“Tickets? For what?”
“Oh, come on, girlfriend! We talked about wanting to go out on a boat during this vacation!”
“YOU talked about wanting to go out on a boat during this vacation.”
“Don’t be a landlubber! It’ll be so much fun!”
“I hope this isn’t one of those huge ships full of tourists and their annoying children.”
“Not at all! It’s a small boat! Got a cute little fishy name and everything! Just a two man crew and a few lucky passengers!”
“Geez, HOW small? Are you sure it’s safe?”
“Absolutely! One of the profs at my college hooked me up with deets about this boat tour! He’s even coming along! I can’t wait to introduce you!”
“Oh, don’t even try setting me up with any of your friends. How long is this excursion going to take?”
“Only about three hours. Come on, girl! You just gotta go with me!!!”
“Sigh, oh, alright. I hope we’re not overdressed for this rinky dink boat cruise.”
“Absolutely not! This other couple that’ll be sailing with us was totally decked out in their finest when I was buying the tickets. They must be LOADED!”
“Well, let’s get this over with.”
“Hold on! Gotta get a pre-cruise selfie of us!”
“I hope those aren’t storm clouds brewing in the background there.”
“Oh, hush, you! No more excuses! Let’s get on that boat and have some fun, Mary Ann!”
“Wait for me, Ginger!!!”
well that sounds…. special… but awwhoy anyway ;O)
If you aren’t familiar with Gilligan’s Island (which is probably everyone outside of the US), the plot of today’s story will be as lost as the seven stranded castaways…
What a fun way to find a prompt! I think I will try this when I am looking for things to write about. Do you have others who participate?
No, it’s just me… but you may feel free to borrow the concept if you’d like!
I don’t know how often you blog but this could turn into a really fun challenge, even if people did it separately somehow. The concept is really good. How did you get the numbers?
I use Random.org to choose four random numbers. The first one from 1 to 50, and the other three from 1 to 100. The first number corresponds to the post that many places down currently in my Reader. The second and third numbers select two random words from that post (Wrapping back to the beginning if too short). And after putting the two words into Google Images, the fourth number is how far down the results list I go to get my inspiration image.
It’s probably too nerdy for some, but like I said, I encourage anyone who wants to try it for themselves to go for it! I do this every Wednesday…
Well, I guess I’m sort of a nerd cause I think it’s pretty cool. Lol.
Bwahahaha! Funny how the Gilligan’s Island theme song became stuck in my ears the farther I read on! 🏝
I knew there was no way I could make the ending a complete surprise… but I like how you said it builds up to its inevitable conclusion. And without a single luxury…
I always thought Ginger and Mary Ann deserved to be stuck on that island with that bunch – there MIGHT have been an entire brain between them but it’s debatable! HAHAHA Great Random!
Pam
I think all seven of them might have shared the same brain between them. Even that professor who liked to act smart, but couldn’t figure out how to build a simple raft.
These ladies have a funny way stand boobs against boobs.
Boob to boob posing is pretty popular in the days of social media. You would never see two men pose with their parts touching each other like that….
And better that way.
haha That’s funny – took me a minute to get the Gilligan reference. 🙂
It was a slow buildup to the inevitable three hour tour….
Very cute. Say hello to Gilligan for me, girls.
They’d be better off throwing him overboard…
He was a bit of a putz.
I hope they don’t get rained on. From reading the preceding comments I see this plot has something to do with “Gilligan’s Island”. I’m gonna guess the premise of that programme and you can tell me if I’m close:
Besties Mary Ann and Ginger go out on a boat ride, get caught in a storm and end up stranded on an island populated only by the mysterious “Gilligan”, who is hiding a dreadful secret…
Or is that the plot of “Lost”…?
I think the plot of Lost was to mess with people’s minds. Or show why you shouldn’t write episodes of any show (other than SCT) while under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs…
The theme to Gilligan’s island didn’t start playing in my head until she said the cruise would last three hours. And even then I wasn’t thinking Ginger and Maryanne, I was thinking about the three hours of hell I spent on a whale watching cruise in Hawaii. Never. Again. It would have been hell on water even without my kids getting into a fight and throwing pop in each other’s faces out on the deck in front of all the other passengers. I hate boats!
Is it a crime to throw your kids overboard over the open waters? I guess that would have been a bad cruise to end up stranded on a desert island.
