Squirrels In The Park – Trip 14

Ready to walk with me and look at the pretty squirrels?  It’s time for another retro trip through the local park, which I’ve been featuring each Tuesday.  For this week’s excursion, you may want to queue up Glenn Frey’s “The Heat Is On” in your music library, since all of today’s photos were taken on Thursday morning July 12, 2018.  While not excessively hot, it was still in the upper 70’s, low 80’s at the time… and the squirrels were definitely showing off their summer styles.  Check out the nearly nude tail on this week’s title card squirrel… and even that was probably warmer than he’d like.

This is one of the smallest batches among all of my squirrel trips at only 35 pics in total.  Let’s see if I can keep the post short enough to match that…

Yeah, I see you up there…

Is that a french fry he found on the ground?

No, it looks more like a nacho chip!  He should find the cheese product squirrel for some dip to go with that chip…

Someone’s got a mouthful of a more traditional squirrel snack…

Mellow squirrel is mellow…

Hey you!  Get up off the walking trail, you lazy squirrel!

Don’t talk to me like that, or else!

Or else WHAT?  You’re going to lay there and sneer at me?  Just wait until a dog walker comes by…

Poor guy must have fleas.  Hot and itchy, what a terrible combination…

A squirrel tail with a bit of ginger in it…

Not your typical squirrel profile, but still quite handsome and elegant.

Oh no, he’s still following me!

Squirrels are so paranoid…

Now there’s a shit eating grin if I ever saw one.  Perfectly fitting for a squirrel, some might say…

I know it’s too warm to move around, but why would you lay out on the hot asphalt instead of in the grass?

Are you the world famous squirrel pervert?

No, I’m not!  I’m just a photo hobbyist…

You sure? You look like a pervert to me…

And just what does a pervert look like?

Hold on while I go get my mirror…

Little asshole.  Little cute asshole…

You must be the “big eyed squirrel” that The Big Bopper used to sing about…

And one last squirrel posed among leaves backlit by the sun.  See you next Tuesday for a late September trip that promises to be much cooler…

  1. oooh love the or else what squirrel, it makes like me when I jump on the scale… and I love statement squirrel what shows it’s back…. probably the modern scarlett o hara who thinks about the brandnew day tomorrow?

  2. That’s a great batch of squirrels this week! The one that was eating a chip but from the side looked like a miniature banana is definitely a cutie as are ALL of these including the one who is just waiting for a bike to come along the path so he can give the bike rider a thrill by running in front of the bike at the last possible second!

    • There are more dog walkers than bicyclists on the inner park paths, so he might not want to hang out there too long. Especially if he wants to find his own chip before the rest of the squirrels eat them…

The reclining squirrel is definitely auditioning for this year’s centerfold …

  4. Awesome bunch of squirrel pics Evil, totes adorable, even the asshole squirrel one, lol.

  5. Gawd, I think at this point I’d sell my soul to the devil for temps in the 70’s & 80’s. Nice shots. Especially was tickled by the squirrels laying down on the job. Too funny.

  6. Amazing ‘slide show’ as per usual! I really look forward to Tuesdays now, because I know there’ll be a squirrel show for me to view! Thanks! I have the idea that mammals (fur bearing ones as well) like to ‘soak up the sun’…Ziggy, who is black and tan, mostly black, goes to my back patio (under the pergola) and stretches out full length in a patch of sun. It’s been over 100 this week here and I don’t know how he doesn’t broil himself…

We always see squirrels looking so svelte and athletic and now there’s this guy “splurged” on the pavement…
