It’s time for another retro visit to the park to perv on all of the squirrels! Our 17th trip takes us back to last July, and the second straight year I went looking for squirrels in the middle of the July heat. These pics were all shot on Thursday July 11, 2019… and it must’ve been a scorcher of a year, because many of the squirrels in these pics are rocking some pretty tight crew cuts! Or maybe they were in the Marines, who knows?

I’m gratified to know that even blonde squirrels have more fun…even if they do think camera hounds are pervs. Amazing photos as per usual. Thanks for reminding me there were hot temperatures in the world somewhere (heck, they were HERE only a week ago)….because it’s damned cold up here. Going from 100+ to 45 degrees would give any squirrel, regardless of fur color, frost bite on their nuts..
As much as I’d love to be in an area that usually had low humidity, it does make the weather much more prone to wild temperature swings. Hopefully the squirrels are growing a warm coat of fur on their nuts…

The little guys look quite different with their very short fur, especially in the shots where you can’t see the ever-bushy tail.
