Squirrels In The Park – Trip 19

Are you ready for another nonlethal dose of toxic cuteness?  It’s time for The Nest to chronicle its next retro trip to the park… this one our final safari of the 10’s taking place on Thursday October 17, 2019.  There should be a touch of autumn in the photos from this batch, and no, it won’t be the squirrels changing colors…

If I wait here long enough, I can watch this new limb grow!

Yeah, sure.  And I’m going to get some popcorn and watch the hour hand on the clock spin around…

Well, hello there, little guy.  How are you doing on this fine fall day?

What was that? I didn’t hear you.

ACK!!!  Your ear!!!  What happened to your ear!?!?!?

Oh sure…. judge me because I only have one ear.

I wasn’t judging you!  I was just surprised because it’s weird to see a squirrel with only one ear.  Hey, it worked for Van Gogh…

Now there’s some sunlit beauty.  And still has both ears attached…

Want a leaf?

No thanks.  You can keep it…

You sure? it tastes pretty good!

I’ll go pick my own roughage, thank you…

Quit trying to blend in with the scenery.  I can pick you out there…

It’s a veritable acorn buffet!  And plenty of skinned knees for any kid foolish enough to use this skateboard park…

Leaping squirrel! This will be a theme…

Oooh! Can I watch?

Sure, knock yourself out dude…

Wheeeeeee!!!!

Man, I wish I could still jump[ like that!

You and me both.  Our younger days are in the ol’ rearview…

More leaping madness!

Neato!

Neato?  What is this, the 50’s?

Pay no attention to that squirrel behind the curtain!

Nya nya! You can’t catch me!

Now I know how Snuggle Bear feels!

Looks like you weren’t fast enough, dear…

Are you looking for something cute?

Of course I am!  Why don’t you do a little pose for me…

Here ya go, Squirrel Pervert!

Oh geez, nobody wants to see THOSE nuts!

And on that scary sight, this trip is over.  I’ll have more….. uh….. warm and fuzzy images next week.

Poor one eared squirrel, bet he has a story to tell.
    Leaf eating squirrel? Ultimate cuteness.

  3. I need more toxic cuteness in my life.

  4. That last photo did have some impressive and really incredibly furry nuts in it. O_o Who knew that squirrels had fuzz nuts? I suppose it makes sense though….nuts freeze in the cold and I don’t suppose trying to hibernate with frozen blue balls is very comfortable. That nut fur must be very handy. Uh…. very USEFUL… oh good lord. Okay then. Enough comment from me.

    • I’ve caught a lot of sciurine scrotums on camera before (in a National Geographic educational documentary kind of way, of course)…. but I have to say, that fuzzy sack takes the prize. That’s a healthy set of jewels there, and I hope the ladies are quite impressed with him….

They are adorable. I have one that comes and drinks out of our pool while I am swimming – totally nonplussed by the creature in the water!

  6. We have an extra large crop of squirrels and acorns this year – a good combo but you have to wonder what this means about the coming winter! Great pix….I feel sad about “One Ear” but he doesn’t know any better – ignorance is bliss I guess.

  7. Wow, you got some great pics. The squirrels are way too fast for us. Mom she can’t keep up so why even ask.

The cuteness is unbearable! Or unsquirrelable!

  9. Huh? A one-eared squirrel? I’ve seen some naughty squirrels but that guy must have really taken the cake along with assorted new tree branches and leaves. 🎂 🐿 🍁

    Cute stuff.

Another cute bunch of frolicking squirrels! I quite like the silhouette photo.

    • I do too, and there is another photo of that scene where the shaded squirrel is even less visible. It was in a more noticeable position when I first spotted him, but he got down before I could get the picture…
