After a dry and relatively seasonal late summer/early fall, the rain had returned this week along with yo-yo temperatures and enough wind to have a brand new carpet of leaves outside. I could joke about snow being right around the corner, but it actually did snow a bit on Halloween morning last year, so in reality you never know…
With the Rainy approved weather report out of the way, let’s get on to sharing our world, as we do every week with Melanie’s questions…
“How many people in real life or on social media (including WordPress, which has become a rather social media site) do you consider good enough friends to help you ‘hide the dead body?”
As I mentioned yesterday, I don’t really have friends period, let alone good friends. I get along with people here, but I don’t really know them (nor do they know me…. yeah, you don’t!). I got to know some people on the Millionaire message board much more personally, but even there, hardly BFF level. I get along (mostly) with the people at work, and have a sense of camaraderie with the remaining few who I’ve toiled alongside with for two decades… but social time ends outside of work. My Mom might help me hide a dead body, but in her physical condition, I doubt she’d really be much help…
Fortunately for me, I limit my murdering to the Shelf critters… one in particular. And they don’t need to be buried…
Are You Ready To Order? What Are You Having (craving) right now?
I would really love to put a YouTube video of a classic (early 90’s) Tom Parks ad for Shoney’s where he’s at a drive thru speaker trying to order “A cheeseburger and a Coke,” and the worker inside can’t understand him through the speaker, so she keeps asking “What?” Unfortunately, while a lot of the ads from that Shoney’s campaign are out there, this one isn’t…. which is a shame, because me and my youngest sister still love to riff on it all the time. So, I’ll just go with the obvious…

Not what’s in this prop bucket, though. It’s not fully cooked and probably was touched up with spray paint to look appetizing.
How’s the weather in YOUR neck of the woods?
Well damn, I guess I already spoiled this question…
There has always been something. Before there was something, there was only nothing. Which do you think is more likely?
I prefer to think there was always Something…
Paul and John really should have let George write more of their songs. This and “Here Comes the Sun” are two of my favorites…
What is your favorite time of year? Why?
This is it. I just enjoy the transition from hot to cold more than I do the opposite in Spring…
you can count on us… we sure would help you to get rid of a body… and we would keep that secret… furever&ever
Yes, you could give my squirrels a run for their money when it comes to digging holes…
Like the Weims said – “count on us” for body burying should the need arise……just don’t ask me to bury it in my own yard because frankly we’ve run out of room for more bodies. There’s been a run on them lately……….I’m starting to get a little worried about an uprising on Halloween in fact!
Pam
Well, if Dingleberry would quit poisoning all of the students with that stuff she calls “lunch”….
We’re with you. Autumn is the best time of year. Warm days, cool nights and beautiful golden light that makes squirrels look cute.
Squirrels even look cute in a dark room…
Thanks Bill for Sharing Your Squirrel-y World and some great answers with everyone! The song “Something” (which you so thoughtfully provided a link for) does answer that question and put the thing to rest as well! Cheers! Here’s to lots of nuts for the squirrels to squirrel away towards the time when it’s too cold (which is coming). Right now? I’m with you. It’s about perfect and I never thought about that whole hot to cold business, but now that you brought it up, Autumn may take the lead over Spring, which has always been my favorite season. After all it starts getting hot when Spring is on the wane….
I can take warm to cold a lot easier than I can tolerate cold to warm. It’s also a lot easier to warm up my house when it gets chilly than it is to cool it down on those first hot days of the year…
And here I thought we were decent friends, kind of, sort-ish. All good, you don’t truly know a person until you’d smoked some of the good stuff with them!
It takes a lot of good stuff to find out anything about me. So I’d imagine, anyway….
The mysterious ES.
Don’t tell me Rainy finally got some rain in her gauge? Wait, that sounds a bit rude…
I heard she got four whole inches in her gauge, and wasn’t even disappointed…
George was always my favorite Beatle. Then Ringo. John and Paul – meh. Every time I think of Paul, I hear Craig Ferguson on the late show saying, “have we got that picture of Paul McCartney?” and then they’d show a photo of Angela Lansbury. LOL. Paul is way too full of himself. George was a talented man.
I’m imaging the resemblance now! Paul is pretty full of himself. He should listen to some of that crap he did with Wings and be embarrassed…
About this body thing….you’re on your own. Let’s think about killing and burying a body…you kill him and we are expected to dig the hole and put him in it? I don’t think so. We are 2 siamese cats. Scratch the siamese. It would take 2 cats with 4 paws about a year to dig the hole for this yo yo you mustn’t have liked or you wouldn’t have killed him. Then he must be dragged to the hole….hopefully you were thoughtful enough to kill him close to the hole….or something like that. This will take another year what with naps and catnip season. Now the dumping of dirt we like but it would still take us weeks and man does this guy stink! We had to get our covid masks and wear those. His body parts started to fall off which made moving him easier. Still a lot of work…..you better call us friend now or you’ll join him.
