What’s that you’re eating now, little guy?

It’s now been four weeks since I saw this baby squirrel exploring outside the nest, and despite packing overwhelming cuteness into my past four Saturday Squirrel features… I’m still barely halfway through my album I got that day!  I’m going to cram the best of those last 30 or so pics into one final tribute to our precious little furball.  Even if I do happen to see him again, by now he’ll have grown out of his supercute phase and will just be regular squirrel cute, which isn’t a bad thing, of course….

Enjoy!

Still can’t tell what that is… but here’s a closeup in the sunlight.

I love that skinny, but long tail he was dragging around!

For those of you with a squirrel foot fetish.

Anything else yummy around here?

This yard really needs to be raked, you know.

Too innocent to already be sporting devil horns.

Bwahahaha! This evil pic is for Tails and River

Babies get itchy too…

Sitting up like a good boy.

OK, baby squirrel… wave bye bye to the audience!

How about I wave my tail instead?

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. He really is a tiny little thing……..I hope he’s OK and thriving. I truly do find myself smiling whenever I see squirrels in our yard – even though they steal the birdfood and tease Teddy – they are MASTERS of the art of CUTE!

Oh my gosh. I’m totally in love with this little guy. Can we have a calendar of just him for next year…?

I sure have enjoyed seeing baby squirrel! So cute! 🙂

Aw! He’ll definitely be grown up by the time you’re through all the pics you took.

  5. Omg, your killing me smalls! He’s so cute I can’t stand it! Lol

  6. Baby squirrels are likely much cuter than teen hoodlums where their mischief making is being refined for adult naughtiness. 😆

  7. Oh my goodness. Is it’s mom around anywhere? This little baby is just too precious.

  8. Baby anything is cute….Well, a baby elephant may be more than I could handle. This furry guy is adorable as he learns to chow down.

Awww, he is just so adorable! He looks way too tiny to be out of the nest all on his own. Maybe he wasn’t supposed to be out and he got his ass chewed by his Momma when he got back home and now he’s grounded. That’s what I’m going to tell myself!

I’ve been trying to make friends with the shy baby squirrel that’s been hanging out on my deck. The other day I threw some peanuts out to it and one bounced up and hit it in the face and it ran off. The next time I opened the door, it ran and hid behind a flower pot!

    • I would like to see someone try to keep a squirrel in its room all day! Your poor baby squirrel is going to snitch on you and all of the squirrels will be on the alert for the mean person who throws food at squirrels’ faces! Poor little guy. No good deed goes unpunished…

  10. Your little squirrel seems to have a pointier head than our gray squirrels. The red ones have rounder faces and are smaller. So far, both species are getting along which is a surprise, because usually, they don’t.

    • The greys have a monopoly here, as I’ve never seen any other kind in my area. Though I’ve seen a few with odd coloring or patterns that make em think they might be breeding with some other species…

  11. That is one very adorable squirrel! You have a good weekend, too.

So cute but so very young. I hope he survives the winter.
