Greetings from The Nest, where yesterday we had our first real snowfall of the winter season! It was only about an inch…. but it was a big inch, let me tell you! (That’s what he said). You can see my tire tracks going into my driveway coming back from lunch with Mom, and the Sonic had a hell of a time navigating the ski slope with a full inch of frozen stuff on it. I miss the hell out of my Neon that once got me to work in a foot of snow with no snowplow to be seen…
Alright, enough of that white stuff! Let’s share our world with Melanie’s questions for this week…
Is it necessary to trust someone you like?
I don’t know…. there aren’t that many people I like. Let me ask someone who has way more friends than I do…
BUSTER: Gee, I definitely trust all of my fellow critters! I mean, it’d be pretty lousy to go through life not being able to depend on your fellow critter now, wouldn’t it? Maybe I should demonstrate!
BUSTER: There’s some of my best pals right down there! I trust them with my life, and I know the feeling is mutual!
BUSTER: Watch what happens when I fall backwards from way up here. I know I can count on them to do the right thing!
CHIP: Ummmm…. weren’t we supposed to catch him?
FUZZYWIG: Can’t you see I have one hand occupied with a joint right now? Priorities, you know. Never bother a friend at 4:20…
TROLL: Buster would have been disappointed had we intervened and not allowed him to die for all of his fans…
MR. FOX: ………………………………
Do you hold grudges? What do you do when someone really irritates you?
Eh, I can, I guess. I tend to avoid people who irritate me. I’m very good at ignoring the fuck out of someone who gets on my nerves…
What’s the most sensible thing you’ve heard someone say?
Yay for repeat questions! My answer from 16 weeks ago is still valid….
Is crying a sign of weakness or strength in adults?
Crying (for reasons other than physical pain) is a result of a person’s empathetic tendencies, and there’s nothing good or bad about being anywhere on that scale. It isn’t even an emotional thing, because I can mood swing with the best of them…. but my sociopathic nature rarely lets me feel or care enough to cry over anything outside of my very confined world I live in. I think that’s one of my strengths, while observers would say it’s a weakness. In reality, it’s just who I am, and you know what Mr. Rogers says…
What small things were you grateful for this week?
When I woke up this morning around 5 AM, there was bright light coming through my bedroom window. It didn’t look like headlights, or those of a UFO coming to take me to Uranus. As it turns out, it was the full moon getting a boost from the white layer of snow on the ground. I even caught it about half an hour later peeking through the blinds in my computer room, just as I had on Christmas morning 2015…
Darn peepers!
It was doing it again this morning! Nobody likes to be mooned in the morning…
We got a mere dusting of snow, gone by 10 AM, darn. I like one good snowfall each winter..
Me too, and the only reason this inch has stuck around is because it’s stayed cold. I fear we’ll be getting dumped on in February and March to make up for this…
I laughed like an idiot as I saw the one who has lots of friends…LOL
Who wouldn’t want to be friends with Buster? You might even get a place on his will…
Thanks, Bill for Sharing What is ALWAYS A Unique World! I KNEW I’d ‘seen’ that advice question rolling around (but couched in different terms you gotta admit) sometime recently
Apologies. Nobody likes the stale stuff (just ask Ol’ Fuzzywig..) That woman in the checkout lane has been making a lot of cameos recently, and I still think that checker/cashier would have been justified shoving that pudding up the crab’s nose! A career-ender no doubt, but satisfying!! Have a fabulous weekend, and with that snowfall? You might even get to make a snowman… 😉 (or is that just crazy talk). Here in the actually frozen ‘north’, it snowed this week, but it was a weak effort. Climate change anyone?
Snow really makes everything look pristine for about an hour before snowplows come and turn the white stuff into gray stuff from road dirt. But I do like a FRESH snow. I’d better like it – we’re due for quite a bit I hear. Poor Buster gets it again – this time from his so-called friends! At least he’s used to it poor guy.
Pam
Our pristine one inch layer of snow, what didn’t melt from yesterday’s sun, is now all swampy and muddy due to a couple inches of rain today. I can’t imagine how much snow we woulda had this time had it been just a tad colder…
With friends like Buster has, who needs enemies? I agree with Fuzzy, though… ignore a falling possum or put down the Good Stuff? That’s an easy choice!
You’re getting a lot of mileage out of that disgruntled customer…
