I’m sure we’ve all had our encounters with an irritated squirrel, who wants to let the whole world know that he’s not a very happy camper. I was inside my computer room minding my own business when the ruckus this squirrel was causing outside my window led me to investigate just what had him so freaking upset.
It turned out to be……… absolutely nothing. Though opening the window and taking pictures of him suddenly made me the target of his relentless ire.
Here’s a batch of photos I took of this hotheaded cutie doing his best Fleabag the Shelf critter dog impersonation….

BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! GO AWAY! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK!
Unlike this week’s obnoxious Saturday Squirrel……. have a great weekend everyone!
Translation: “Hey Human – a couple of weeks ago you were tossing food out here like crazy – now – zip – what’s with that???? I’m still hungry you know and I’ve got a family to support!!”…….
Pam
I’ll leave him some fast food coupons out so he can really live it up!
He may be obnoxious, but he sure is cute.
😉
Perhaps he’s in need of a red headed girlfriend?
Absolutely!
Great! I’ll send him over right away!!!!
Too late. She and her brood have already been shipped express mail.
Enjoy!
Lookout FleaBag…you’ve got some competition.
Dogs being outbarked by a squirrel. What in the world is going on?
Talk about pandemonium!
BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! said the Duke’
Yes, we know we said.
But, BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! he repeats.
We know, we know.
BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! he says on his third hysterical repositioning at the living room window. AND YOU’RE FEEDING THEM! WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?
Life can get complicated, even if you are a dog and a squirrel. They aren’t at all afraid of him. They are more afraid of ME and my camera than the loudly barking dog. What does that say about our relative positions in the animal world?
They seem to be more afraid of me than other things around them, though I always assumed that was because I was ugly…
Oh boy, he’s mad at you. Better get Big Scrat to sort him out.
Oh my, I’m not sure the neighbors would want to see that. At least his romps with Snuggle are hidden behind my blinds…
This is so adorable. Cute cute cute cute cute. OMG the squirrels at my house bark so much. It is just nuts (no pun intended)
Usually if I hear a squirrel barking its fool head off like this, I can find the cat prowling about within a few seconds. But there was no cat this time. This guy was just mad! or maybe had too many energy drinks…
Yes, but it’s an adorable bark. 😉
As adorable as sound waves can be…
Love it. Sometimes you gotta wonder about them there squirrels. They do the pointless bark in our backyard, too.
There may very well be a point to the bark, it’s just beyond our comprehension. Or perhaps they are just attention whores at heart…
Those close-ups are fantastic! Our little guys only get that upset when the blue jays are around, bothering them!
We get swarmed with grackles all the time, and the squirrels don’t seem to mind. But one furry intruder, and it’s an all points bulletin…
Great closeup photos! I haven’t seen a squirrel anywhere near our new home – too much construction I figure. At our old place, I would be loudly scolded for reasons unknown on a regular basis by more than one squirrel.
