Not every squirrel is happy to pose for a chance to be the Saturday Squirrel. What a sour 
and dismissive face for the normally vibrant and energetic squirrel! You really think you can crap on my photoshoot by acting like a malcontent?
Well, tough luck, pal! For showing that even squirrels can run the full range of expressions, your frumpy gaze is getting plastered on my blog this weekend for everyone to admire! And they will admire you, whether you want them to or not…

My parents used to tell me, when I’d go around looking grumpy, that my face would freeze like that. I half believed them too.

There was an episode of Tales From The Darkside where a mother said that to her daughter, and her face really did freeze that way. Never underestimate those old wives tales…
He is giving you the “look.” You know that ready to bark at you look if you don’t dump out about a pound of treats for him RIGHT NOW.
I get that same look from the cat when he wants a pound of treats…. only he can’t make good on the threat to bark. It would be neat if Ody did bark, though…

LOL! That grumpy face gave me a much needed laugh this morning. It’s so odd to see a grumpy expression on a squirrel. They usually look so cheerful even when they’re pissed off and attacking each other or barking and tail swishing from the trees.
It would be funny to actually see a squirrel with that expression fixed on their face. He was getting ready to bolt up the tree when I took this picture, and it snapped right as he was getting ready to make that first move. Why only his face got distorted, I have no idea…
