I was randomly sifting through old posts on The Nest, and happened upon one of the Squirrels In The Park features I did two years ago profiling an assortment of pics I’d taken on certain trips I’d made to the park. This was the photo I used for a title card of Trip #3 on May 18, 2015. I can’t believe I had never used this photo for a proper Saturday Squirrel post before, as it’s such a cute shot of a squirrel very happily hippity hopping down one of the park trails! I have very few photos in my vast collection of a squirrel on pavement moving in a forward direction, showing off that adorable little face as they go along their merry way, and made a note that this wrong needed to be righted this Saturday!
Happy trails, Mr. Saturday Squirrel! Your long overdue day in the spotlight has finally arrived….
Have a great weekend everyone!
Nice action shot. Where ever he’s going, he looks determined.
Yeah, either he spied some food or maybe a lady squirrel….
Nice shot! We have only one squirrel here – he slinks along the fence and then comes to eat whatever seed he can find on the ground. He’s sort of skinny so I’m happy to put seed or cracked corn out.
A skinny squirrel, that’s just so wrong! I hope he gets fattened up…
That is a nice shot of a good-looking squirrel on the move!

Places to go and squirrels to see…
Cute photo! Happy Saturday.
Happy Saturday Squirrel Day!
Hopefully he remembered to pick up the twigs he probably chewed from a nearby tree. Happy weekend.
Squirrels do not do yard work…
This morning, we have had sun, rain, hail, sun, overcast, and now — rain. All within less than an hour. At one point, because it was windy and hailing, Garry took down the feeders lest they blow away. The hail was the size of marbles, so it was the real deal. Before the hail melted, the sun reappeared and there was a squirrel, standing on the hook that holds the feeder just staring at the empty space where a feeder should be. Looking at the door (“Is she on her way? Where’s the chow?”), then back where there ought to be a feeder. That was one seriously confused squirrel. The sun came out about 2 minutes later, so I filled the feeder, but by then he had left. I’m sure he will be back. Poor confused creature!
That squirrel would have probably braved the hail to chow down had they been left out. I’ve seen squirrels out and about in some nasty weather conditions…
Charge of the squirrel…
He’ll have to retreat at the first dog walker that comes by…
Ken came in the other day and said, “There are a couple of squirrels fighting out by the spruce tree.” I said, “Honey, they’re not fighting…” Haha!
