I feel special up here!
There’s a lot of these little brick memorials on the ground in front of trees at my local park, and I’ve gotten more than a handful of interesting pics of squirrels doing a variety of things on them over the years. When this guy hopped onto one of these squirrel-sized pedestals in front of me, I naturally started shooting hoping to add yet another park brick entry to my Saturday Squirrel series.
Well, this guy not only did something neat while perched up there… but it’s something I rarely see a squirrel do in any instance, let alone get a photo of it.
And of course, I missed it…. but I did get this:
Hey, this is like wearing platform shoes!
In between snaps, he stood bolt upright…. I mean, upright like this famous pic of mine! Unfortunately, by the time the picture took, he had scrunched back down a bit into the position you see there. The little bastard was even looking right at me when he did it! Argh!
And of course, he didn’t do it again…
Thank you, thank you! I have thwarted the annoying human once again!
By the way, nice junk, dude. Maybe you should get a loincloth…

Plinth, now there’s a great word I’ve rarely heard in my life!
There should definitely be plinths around the place featuring squirrels.
I am going to have to start calling those bricks in the park plinths now. It’ll just be one more reason for them to think I’m nuts and throw me out…
