This week’s Saturday Squirrel seems to be channeling everyone’s favorite green monster who lives in the trash cans of Sesame Street. He looks none to pleased that I decided to poke around near his garbage barrel full of treasure and is about ready to read me the riot act. To further drive home the point of grumpy old squirrel is that little stick (or whatever it is) he’s got protruding from his mouth like a toothpick or smelly cigar. Is it possible to be so crabby looking yes also be totally adorable?
In a word, yes!
OK, we better get off this squirrel’s lawn….
Have a great weekend everyone!
He looks like a bookie I used to know in Jersey.
🤣
I can totally see that!
I wonder what the heck that thing is…..it does look like a cigar (or is that CEEE-GAR).
Pam
I don’t know…. it’s certainly not a stick (or a steak, like last week). Given that he probably dug it out of that trash can, it could be just about anything!
Incidentally, I see what makes it look a lot like a cigar now! That little discoloration at the point between the sun and shade looks a lot like a cigar band! Now I will only see that as a cigar!
Yikes, he’s certainly not having a good day! But I agree; squirrels can be both adorable and grumpy!
He may be curmudgeonly by nature, which I can relate to. But I’m nowhere near as adorable…
One of our several squirrels who now visit every day to gather up spilled seed came up on our patio and lay down flat under the table. I think he was hot and tired.
I went to the park in July one time and they were all laying out flat on the paths. That must be their way to cool down…
😁😄😅😂🤣😆 🐿🐿 “GET OFF MY LAWN!” (or in this case) OFF MY PORCH!!
GET OFF MY TRASH CAN!
That’s one scary squirrel. Best come back after he’s had his morning nuts and he’s feeling more like himself.
Right, come back when he’s only slightly less liable to pelt me with garbage….
He looks like he’s gonna make me an offer I can’t refuse!
It’s awful hard to refuse all that grouchy cuteness anyway. Just hope I don’t end up in the crossfire of his next hit…
Or swimming with the fishes!
Maybe he has a pretzel, you know the straight kind. What a cutie. I’ve got a bumper crop of young squirrels at my house right now. They’re all over the place and into EVERYTHING. They aren’t old enough to start yelling at me and learning the grouchy squirrel ways.
It’s so much fun watching them grow up to be cantankerous!
He must be the Grand Poobah of grumpy. Squirrels rarely look cute in trash bins.
Only because the raccoons own a slight edge over them in the cute little trash digger category…
