I don’t know what you’d call those nubby extensions coming off a tree trunk where a branch used to be attached to many years ago… but this week’s Saturday Squirrel is quite curious to see what he can find inside this wooden ring. He’s really got his nose in there. You know, it almost looks like…… well……… a tree butt…….
Eh, nevermind, little guy. Just my nasty imagination running wild. You just keep nosing around with that….. (heh, heh!) tree butt!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Great. Now I’ll be thinking tree butt every time I see a broken branch…
🤣
I’m sure arborists use it all the time, with a snicker…
One of our squirrels is an apprentice sprinkler fixer. She has figured out which one is leaking and lies on it because it is lovely and cool.
That is quite cute!
Might be trying to find sap?
Could be anything in the tree butt…
He thinks it’s a giant acorn.
Little does he know it’s really a tree butt…
Looks like you interrupted a very private moment.
Squirrels shouldn’t have their private moments in public like that…
Can’t a guy explore a tree butt without being spied on????!!!
Pam
I guess if he’s a certified tree proctologist…
Don’t step in any tree poop.
Yeah, blame it on the tree…
LOL! I love that last one where he’s looking right at you. What a great shot!
I was going to post that one all by itself, but had a funnier story with the previous pic of his nose in the tree butt. I was lucky to get this one because I don’t think he looked at me for very long before getting away…
He’s such a cutie! You sure get some wonderful shots!
I wish more of the squirrels I photographed would look right at the camera like that! A squirrel’s best side if always their front…
You, yes, you with the camera! Clear off, this is my nubby extension!
“Nubby extension” almost sounds naughtier than “tree butt”….
