Up In The Belfry

Kee! Kee! Kee!

Am I the only one who gets bat-like vibes from this squirrel I met in the park yesterday?  Look at those pointy looking ears, and the way they light up in the sun!  He no doubt used his keen sense of sonar to find that nut he has in his mouth.  I wonder if he hangs upside down from trees like his cousin does?

This week’s Saturday Squirrel is totally batty, and quite seasonally appropriate…

Have a great weekend everyone!

(cue spooky Halloween music) That’s all we need, a squirrel – bat cross bred critter. Thank you for alerting mankind of this … 😉

  3. Ah yes – a bit of spook from the squirrel – who has a notched ear by the way. Squirrel-O-Ween is just around the corner!

    • You are correct! I have a couple photos of him that show off the ear notch better than I might post next Saturday… but I couldn’t resist the “bat wing ears” of this angle!

  4. I’m surprised he’s out during the day!

Many believe that The Batman’s sidekick is Robin. The Batman wouldn’t hang out with a bird. Enter… The Batsquirrel.

As always just too cute. Love the way the light shines though his tail.

Maybe he’s the elusive flying bat-squirrel! They’re known to be very cute!

  10. Is that a tiny notch in the one ear? Uh-oh…Vampire alert!

Awww, so cute! And definitely rather bat-like. I wish bats looked more like squirrels, although think of all the mischief the little rascals could get into if they could fly!
