Three weeks ago for Saturday Squirrel, I posted the photo above of a squirrel whose backlit pointed ears gave me the impression of bat wings. A few people noticed the nifty ear notch (a park squirrel, of course) that helped with that illusion, along with the giant (nut?) he had in his mouth… and I said I had a couple more pics of him that showed those features off much better and would feature them the following week.
But then I went and bought a new squirrel feeder in the interim, and was very exited to show off all the neat shots I got of my own squirrels enjoying its dual-feeding system. What can I say, like my favorite critters, I tend to get a little distracted….
Well, just in case anyone actually remembered that tease, here are the other two photos of the bat-eared Saturday Squirrel!
You might also notice that very sharp claw sticking out in both of the new photos!
Have a great weekend everyone!
This fellow definitely needs a manicure.
😉
May as well grease the trees too!
Great photos, but kind of a scary-looking dude. I wouldn’t turn my back on him.
I wouldn’t dare turn my back on a squirrel with that large of a nut to throw, evil ears or not!
Gotta appreciate those see-through ears!
They probably glow in the dark too…
Sharp claws……all the better to climb trees with ! Great shots.

Or scratch that annoying itch…
ears?????
He reminds me of one of those old-school boxers with the cauliflower ears–he’s been through some battles!
