#35 – Address The Nation

Another one-off photo entry in the countdown, this shot was just too irresistible not to slot somewhere in my Saturday Squirrel tribute because of how perfectly posed the squirrel seems to be.  This photo was taken at the local park, and that brick structure you see there is a memorial where someone donated some money to the park district to have a loved one’s name etched in front of a tree.  The logo I’m using for the countdown (see right) has a squirrel standing on one of these same bricks.

As I said, this one was just too perfect.  How can anyone look at this and not think the squirrel is behind a podium giving a speech to an audience of…… well, let your imagination run wild.  When I featured this photo in Saturday Squirrel, I went with a graduation theme since I took the picture in May.  This squirrel’s excellent oration skills will live on in the annals of history as my 35th favorite Saturday Squirrel of all time, though we’ll stop short of referring to him as a master debator or cunning lunguist…

    Great shot!
Makes me wonder what squirrelly office he’s running for.

  3. I’d vote for him…..considering the choices that may be available I think Mr. Squirrel is a shoe-in (or would it be nut-in??).

  4. Looks like squirrels cause mischief in all sorts of way. This guy looks as if he’s moving that memorial brick out of position. 😇

Hee, classic! I’m imaging a little crowd of squirrels sitting just out of shot listening to his speech.
