If you’ve taken enough photos of the same subject over a long enough period of time, you get to recognize when something in a photo doesn’t quite look right. I got that feeling nine years ago when I processed this photo I took of a squirrel running rampant in my front yard, nut planted firmly in teeth. And it didn’t take long for me to realize what made this picture stand out from the thousands of others I’d taken previously…..
HOLY SHIT!!!! HE’S COMING RIGHT AT ME!!!!!!!!!
I’ve got entire albums full of photos of squirrels running left and squirrels running right…. as well of some squirrels turning tail. But this is the very rare pic of mine where the squirrel is running in motion straight forward! This capture always amused me, and it obviously amused longtime reader Marilyn as well, as she used this picture as a prompt for a post!
One thing I haven’t done in the time since I first took this photo is post any of the other pics in this set. I mean, after this one…. why bother? But some of them are almost as amusing as the image of him charging at us…
nut-orious photos :O)
Looks like he is rapping in the last one 😂
He might be, just needs some chainz and bling…
Beware his squirrelly wrath!
“Damn kid! Get off my f*cking lawn!!!”
He can go play out in the street, but that will end up no better…
What a cutie! And clearly he missed you!
28! 45! Omaha…hut, hut…🏈
A few people noted that he looked like a football center…
These are really great shots but that first one makes me laugh because it REALLY looks like he’s laughing (until you realize he’s carrying that nut!).
Pam
Laughing all the way to the bank, as he knows the sure way to make it on The Nest is to give me something I’ve never seen before!
These are great photos! Guess you ducked out of the way, or he veered off or he’d have run you down. haha! 🙂
Or I was pretty far away and that was a close-up shot! But that’s why it looks so weird, I’ve never had a squirrel charge at me before, for obvious reasons. He was a good 80-100 feet away from me, just just happened to be running in the direction of the camera!
Oh … hee hee , sure looks like he’s right up at you there. 🙂 Good camera work to get this one.
Yikes! Back away slowly…
I’ve dealt with rabid dobermans before. Just freeze…… (Ouch! My leg!!)
