This is a completely just for fun countdown I came up with to give Mecca Muzak Mondays a hiatus to reload with new songs. Every Monday from March to September 2015, I will present the next song in my countdown honoring my favorite covers of all time. Cool list, gifted idea. I would need to have “Hazy Shade of Winter” by the Bangles on this town and Sid Vicious doing “My Way” on this list. Cheers
I probably didn’t include Hazy Shade of Winter because as far as I’m concerned, that IS a Bangles song! Plus, since I had the Lemonheads’ “Mrs. Robinson” already in there, that disqualified another Simon & Garfunkel cover. Really, just about any cover of an S&G song is better than the original in my opinion…
Well said. Good reasoning. Have you heard Disturbia’s cover of “Sounds of Silence”? Cheers
Absolutely! Had it not come out the year after I ran that countdown, it would have easily been in the Top 5!
I wondered if it was something like that when I saw the year. Thanks for confirming for me. Cheers
