Well, Hello There!

howdy!

As Thin Lizzie once sang, the squirrels are back, the squirrels are back in town!

Our Saturday Squirrel of the Week is this little guy, who I came across while out walking a week ago.  No squirrel has ever let me take their picture in the outdoors as close up as this one did… though he did keep trying to hide on the other side of the tree from me.  It was a game of back and forth from one side to the other, until he finally had enough and scampered up, knowing that I’m too old to be climbing trees.  This tree is in the yard of a vacant house, though the neighbors were probably curious as to why I was running around this tree snapping pictures.  They probably already have me chalked up as the creepy guy of the area anyway….

Here is another picture of him a bit out of focus, but he looks so familiar…. that face…. that expression…..

It’s The Pensive Squirrel!!!

    I’ve made a guest appearance!

  3. I think your squirrel is actually enjoying every minute of your chasing him around that tree, lol! My guess is he has chose to make his home up it if he didn’t take off from it straight away…maybe baby squirrels in the spring ;)

  4. Oh! We Aussies (who never see squirrels) except on Sponge Bob would love to see a “fair dinkum” squirrel home or nest.

    • I’ll see what I can do about locating a real squirrel’s nest. I’m pretty sure there isn’t one in my backyard tree, despite my weekly filling of the corncob feeder on the trunk. Maybe in the front one, I know there’s a split in that tree they hang out in… now that the leaves are falling, I’ll keep a closer lookout!

BTW, I had to look up “fair dinkum”, so thanks for teaching me something today! :)
