No, not Butts the squirrel….. squirrel butt!!!
You may recognize the scenery surrounding this week’s Saturday Squirrel. It’s not only the same surroundings we saw with last week’s honoree, it is in fact the very same squirrel! These are just two pictures I did not share of the Election Day squirrel because I thought it was so funny I got two different shots of the squirrel’s fuzzy derriere aimed at me that I wanted to devote a separate entry to them!
Maybe it was all just wonderful serendipity, or maybe he had a message for me for bothering his normal nut collecting activities. What was that you wanted me to kiss!?!?!?
Fortunately, no squirrel pellets were ejected during the filming of this sequence…

is this the angle you wanted?!
It was the angle he provided me…
It’s somehow a comfort to this Squirrel girl to know there are other nuts as obsessed with our fuzzy favorite as me….. when I was in college and out shooting a photo assignment, I saw two squirrels engaging in “Musk Squirrel Love” on a log…… and promptly photographed it. Little did I know it would lead to a lifelong obsession with the buggers!
Love your blog!
Thank you! Who knew the strange combination and timing of an art project, a message board, and a dog 500 miles away from where I live would create an obsession with an animal I hardly ever even noticed before?
Look at it this way. You meet interesting people, you’re probably considered daffy, if folks there are like folks here, but we could be into way weirder and worse stuff!!!!! I think we’re delightful. 🙂 I’m going to mention you in my blog today, if you don’t mind.
Ooooh! I can’t wait to see this….. 🙂
Is that squirrel trying to tell you something or is he just trying to ignore you? lol
fun post 🙂
I am your squirrel fan, a lover of your art and a new respector of those furry little guys that hang out on the tree outside my office window. My dog seems very interested in them too!
Awww, thanks! I am glad I am even teaching canines to appreciate our sciurine friends!
Hmmm…interesting pointing of view, er, perspective even…lol.
I do believe the squirrel is communicating in a non verbal way. LOL. On an unrelated matter, I have lost a garden glove which means I now have a legitimate material to make a (drum roll) glove squirrel.
My son is already providing style tips like “dye it red Mum!”
Aussie Aunt.
Miss Beautiful Red Glove Squirrel has a nice ring to it!
and there was rejoicing throughout Aussieland as she was named thus.
Miss Beautiful Red Glove Squirrel.
The crowds cheered Oi! Oi! Oi! as they can be depended upon to do.
