I’ve gotten the chance to feature quite a few songs that struck my fancy ever since I started my series of Monday Muzak features on The Nest. But limiting myself to modern and mostly underground songs that were once earworms at work, and lost hits in general from before the new millennium… that leaves a lot of tunes I really, really love that would never get their Monday moment in the sun.
So for my fourth countdown series, I came up with the Top 30 Songs We Just Feel Like Playing… which features songs spanning the rock and roll and pop era that hadn’t been used before in any of Mecca Muzak Mondays, the Dusty Vinyl Archive, or either of my past Monday countdowns. I filtered a few songs for variety, not only in genre, but time period… but for the most part, these are 30 songs I love a whole lot and would easily make an overall list of my favorites of all time.
