Yes, you!!! You’re the latest star of my blog!
It was squirrelmania in my backyard this morning! I don’t think I’ve seen so many squirrels so active in a long, long time! I had fun shooting about 250(!!!) or so pictures out my back window, and am going through them as we speak and culling out the good and deleting the bad.
I stopped dead in my tracks when I got to this picture, though. Holy crap, it is so awesome!!!! The way he’s looking straight at the camera and gesturing like, “You want to put ME on your blog? Why, I’m honored! Give me a second to comb my mange….”
I cropped the picture so I could upload it at its original resolution without wasting a lot of storage space. You can click on it to see it much larger than it displays on my blog…
I think it’s safe to say that I’ll have plenty of Saturday Squirrel pictures to tide me over for a while now. But this squirrel didn’t want to wait that long to get his moment of glory. How could you possibly say no to that face?

Thank you! I’m quite impressed that out of 250 pictures, I managed to take a decent one! Actually, I’ll have more pictures of this particular guy on Saturday…. none as good as this one, though now that I know I can make my pictures look clearer and closer by cropping the original size, they’ll probably be better than my standard views from the Goodyear blimp!
It’s tough without a strong telephoto to get any decent “up close and personal” squirrel shots. Unless, of course, the subject is being cooperative! =)

I think they have all my acorns buried already. I did throw them some peanuts, but this was before I did that I believe. I think there is something stuck in his teeth….
I always loved this time of year with the squirrels fixin’ to hunker down for the winter. Looking forward to seeing more ES 🙂
