Who needs the Manning Brothers?

While baseball is still our great American pastime, football (that’s real football, not that sport we call soccer ;)) has been the most popular sport in the United States for some time now.  While the first game of the new National Football League season was played sqturday squirrel logoThursday night, for most teams, the season kicks off this weekend with a slate of 13 games on Sunday.

August is usually filled with two things NFL-wise…. a ton of meaningless preseason games, and a boatload of commercials for DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket package, which allows subscribers to watch any Sunday game they wish at any time, rather than rely on which game the networks are showing.  And while shameless product placement has absolutely no business here at The Nest since I’m not receiving a penny of compensation for it, apparently this week’s Saturday Squirrel doesn’t care.  He parked himself in just the right location to make sure that DirecTV satellite dish on my neighbor’s house also got into the picture.  I hope at least he received a few nuts out of the deal from the satellite TV company….

Have a great kickoff to your weekend!

    • Yes it was. That ad’s been something of an internet sensation here, though when I watched it for the first time yesterday, I have to admit it didn’t live up to the hype. However, it had its moments….
