Remember Ken Jennings, the guy who won about 8 billion dollars on Jeopardy a few years ago? He has his own blog that some people on my forum follow, and one of them made sure to point out this picture Ken inserted in one of his recent posts about his family’s trip to Sweden. Here are his two kids posing with one of the most awesome park statues I have ever seen. One of these days, if ES ever makes any real money, I’m going to buy that and put it in my front yard. It is so cute!
It’s no surprise there would be a red squirrel statue in the middle of Stockholm, Sweden, since red squirrels are all over Europe and are quite revered there. I had just picked up knowledge of that while reading “Nuts About Squirrels” last week. I’m not a big fan of being anywhere where the people don’t speak the same language as I do, which is one of the many reasons I’ll never go back to New York City, but if anything might get me to want to visit Europe some day, it would be an adorable monument to the feisty red squirrel like that.
And if you ever doubted Mr. Jennings really is a man of high intelligence, read what he wrote in the opening lines of that post:
Greetings from beautiful Stockholm, a part of the world apparently run by giant, intelligent squirrels. I can’t believe this wasn’t mentioned in those dragon tattoo books.
