You may have noticed things have gotten back to normal at The Nest in the past 48 hours. The old header went back up, Atomic ES once again emerged as my Gravatar, and most importantly my blog has gotten back to doing what it does best… posting awesome squirrel
pictures on Saturday mornings! Yes, the bushy tailed little fuzzballs were away far too long, but now they are back and better than ever!
Earlier this week, I managed to catch a couple of amorous squirrels chasing each other up, down, and all around my backyard oak tree. Of all the pictures I took of the pair, this one is by far my favorite… as the shade that was cast on that part of the tree at the time I took the picture provided natural silhouetting of the two playing their cat and mouse game. The only thing that could make this photo any better was if it weren’t a touch out of focus…. but given how bad my pictures usually take, this one’s still a major win! For providing the natural form of entertainment squirrels are known for, combined with a little artistic flair, these two lovesquirrels get the honor of being the first back to sciurine business Saturday Squirrels here at The Nest!
These two don’t have a care in the world this weekend, and I hope you all don’t as well!

Yeah! The squirrels are back! 🙂
The squirrels are back in town!
Love that song.
Tails will flow and nuts will spill
And if the squirrels wanna fight, you better let ’em!
Yay! Saturday Squirrel! We have Black Squirrels, I’m still trying to get a picture for you but they’re real good at avoiding the camera 😦
I would love to have a black squirrel for my Saturday Squirrel feature! Send Goatacus out with the camera… they can’t resist him!
He’d probably try to eat them. He’s definitely living up to that “goats will eat anything” thing. He ate the rhododendron today, I wouldn’t have thought that a tasty plant …
We used to have real squirrels, but then came the bobcats and there were no more squirrels or bunnies. I wonder if these facts are in some way related?
Keep the bobcats away from here! I doubt they would entertain me as much as my squirrels do…
Glad to see the squirrels return ^_^ and great picture too 🙂
Thanks!
Yay, squirrels!
That’s a great picture. You’re lucky to have wildlife scurrying around so close!
I am very lucky! I saw an article in the newspaper a couple days ago that categorized squirrels as a “nuisance animal”, and it ticked me off! We should be very fortunate to have wildlife like this in suburbia and urbia!
Great to see the boys back in town!
Well, we may as well make it official! 🙂
Yay!! 🙂
