Keep Our Backyard Beautiful

Why, evil humans? Why!?!?

Why, evil humans? Why!?!?

For too many people out there, nature is something that was given to us to use and abuse as we sqturday squirrel logosee fit.  So long as we don’t have to put up with the mess left behind, why should we care, right?  Squirrels, however, have a rather vested stake in the state of our ecosystem.  They have to live in the great outdoors after all…. and while they might like some of the garbage that people throw about if it’s tasty enough, squirrels typically don’t appreciate it when the two footers disrespect the land they frolic along in.

This squirrel above, for instance, seems rather annoyed at the job the lawn service that took care of the jungle growing in the yard of the vacant house across the ditch from me did.  Grass clippings, and branches, and overgrown weeds… all of it, just left to die and rot in the ditch thanks to a shoddy cleanup effort.  How could they!?!?  It’s almost enough to make a…. well…..

*SNIFF!*

*SNIFF!*

Since I didn’t manage to work in a Retro TV Ad Tuesday this past week, I’ll let this week’s emotional Saturday Squirrel do it for me…

So keep Mangy Eyes Cody in mind, folks, and take care of the damn planet.  Not only will the squirrels and raccoons and skunks and possums and unicorns be eternally grateful for your efforts, but everyone around you will appreciate a cleaner world!  Remember, nobody wants to see a crying squirrel…

Have a great weekend… and don’t pollute!

I’m glad your squirrels are real squirrels. That “crying Indian” is no Native American, but an Italian actor who spent his career portraying Indians. Just and interesting factoid for Saturday.
(I agree with the message, though, of course). And no one wants to see a crying squirrel…….

  2. That’s exactly how our beach looks this month. I’m glad dogs aren’t allowed there in summer, probably to protect our paws and our stomachs. The squirrels would cry bitter tears here… I had a used disposal diaper on the wheel of the car… woah that was …. special.

Yeah, I’ll move away from the message about nature and renewal and say that the first pic looks like you caught him peeing on the sidewalk.

    • If he would have been turning his head around in that one like Calvin, I’d have definitely saw that as well! Of course, if I was a squirrel, I’d be peeing from tree branches!

And give a hoot…or something like that…have a good weekend too!

Who could drop litter after seeing that poor sad little crying squirrel? A much better advert.

I’ll never be able to unsee that poor squirrel.
