Is it a big acorn?
Of course, you should already know the answer to that question if you’ve been reading my past few Saturday Squirrel posts. Yes, it’s more of Baby Squirrel! Look at how big that acorn is compared to his tiny frame! I’ve shown many photos before of squirrels with an acorn easily fitting in their mouth….. I’m not sure it’s gonna work for this tiny maw!
Good job finding the piece of corn, little guy! Mommy won’t have to cut that one into pieces for you…
Gee, you sure are making a mess out of that meal. Just like any other little rascal would, I guess.
Yes, you certainly have a point there…
More of this adorable pipsqueak next week!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Oh my goodness. That last picture is squirrel perfection !
I was able to get a few closeups of him since he was just outside my window. Not scared of me at all like the adults…
He/she really is tiny and so cute…….he’s probably getting used to seeing you – don’t be too surprised if he comes closer and closer……better buy that bag of peanuts!
Pam
I’ve still only seen him that one time… and it’s been three weeks now. I did a lot of squirrel watching last week, but it was all bigg’uns…
This little baby is definitely cute as a button!
Not much bigger than a button either! Well, maybe one of Bozo the clown’s buttons…
Looking forward to seeing more of baby squirrel. 🙂
I’ve still got some more to show!
He seems quite tame, but I’m surprised (although I don’t know diddly squat about squirrels really..only what I’ve learned from you and Marilyn) he’s alone. Don’t the parent squirrels stay near-by to a baby that tiny? Or is he just small in general? He’s ADORABLE, and you can bet, as long as you post pictures of him, that I’ll be right here, glued to the window, gawping. What a darling little guy! ❤ ❤
He didn’t seem to notice me like the other squirrels do… probably still too naive. I don’t know where the mother was (I think squirrel dads are deadbeats), but she let junior have the run of the yard for about half an hour…
Oh, he is so cute I have tears in my eyes. Excellent photos!
Thank you, and here’s a tissue. I knew I had a moment I might never see again, so I made sure to get as many good pictures as possible…
He could wear the top like a cute little beret!
That would break the Cute-O-Meter…
Even with all my railing about squirrel hoodlums, I have to admit, this little fella sure is pretty cute. Those tiny fingers/toes are freaking adorable!
Nobody can be angry at that face. He’ll grow up to be an adorable little hoodlum….
At least a hoodlum. Adorable may be a stretch.
So cute! “Pipsqueak” describes him so well 😄 😁
He just needs a little beanie with a propeller…
That is such a cute visual 😄
Reblogged this on West Coast Review and commented:
This little bitty squirrel is so over the top cute and precious. Everyone needs to see this squirrel.
This little squirrel is so absolutely precious. It is SO CUTE. I had to reblog this post on both of my blogs and on FB. Oh my goodness I’m having a toxic cute moment. Thank you ES.
Thank you! I knew you would like this guy. I feel fortunate to have been able to take pictures of both a baby squirrel and a baby possum. Now I need a raccoon or a skunk to stop by for their baby photos…

It’s the size of his eyes compared to the rest of his head that makes him so cute!
I’ve heard that we react positively to the big eyes like that because it’s a survival instinct ingrained in us to want to care for our young. I don’t know about that, though…. I hate human babies and think most look butt ugly, but baby animals and their big ol’ eyes do it for me every time!
He’s so precious! You got so many great shots of him. That last one is so close! He’s so tiny. I just want to scoop him up and carry him around to protect him from the big, bad world. I’ve made friends with one of our baby squirrels but they are barely smaller than the adult squirrels now.
I’m glad I got so many shots of him the first time since there never was a second time. Hopefully I’ve just missed him…
