One of the very most iconic moments in movie history was shot at the ungodly hour of 1:00 AM on September 15, 1954. Marilyn Monroe, in the moment that would define her image, walked over a sidewalk grate and had her dress blown up by the moving air of a subway train passing underneath in a scene for The Seven Year Itch. The Billy Wilder directed film would be released the following summer and become a commercial success… though its lasting legacy will always be the risque showing of the legs of America’s favorite blonde bombshell…
And now we’ll un-crane our necks and focus on the business at hand…. answering this week’s Share Your World questions courtesy of Di from Pensitivity!
If you were to go to a desert island and could only take five things with you, what would they be?
Well, I don’t think anybody would willingly go to a desert island…. let alone be given the chance to pack a limited number of essentials they’d want to have. Not that there are many good choices to bring. Electronics won’t work. Books only have so much re-reading value. Pets would be nice companions…. until the food runs out. A pretty girl? Sure, but you’ll just end up with more mouths to feel coconuts to. How about I just get a better travel agent who wouldn’t offer me cheap deals on vacations to desert islands?
What popular song (any era) best describes you?
This was fittingly an overnight Mecca earworm for a while about 15-20 years ago….
We daysleepers don’t get a whole lot of respect from the 9 to 5 world…
If you could only use three basic ingredients to make a meal, what would they be?
All these cooking questions! If there was one thing to be learned from my Millionaire Journey, food knowledge is one of my weaknesses! It’s why I relied for so many years on fast food…
Do you allow your pet on the furniture?
Yeah, I guess I do….
GRATITUDE:
It’s the start of a new week. What are you most looking forward to?
It’s Halloween candy season!
we have to ponder what we would take to such an island… probably weed …
I hope there are enough coconuts to satisfy the munchies!
Love all the kitty photos! 🙂
Yay! I knew exactly how I was going to “answer” that question since I have so many photos of Ody and his two angel brothers all over my furniture!
Our cats, and dogs too when we had them were allowed on the furniture, too. 😻
It’s hard for me to imagine keeping an indoor pet OFF of the furniture! I have more furniture than I do people to use it anyway…
My cat also goes wherever he wishes. Except my desk – it’s too crowded on top for him to get comfortable! Five things on a desert island? A pack of cards for sure, a dictionary, flint for a fire, something for bug bites, and sunglasses!
Ody used to love to get on my desk (He still tries), but he’s just way too big for it anymore. Which is funny because when I first got him he could fit on my mousepad!
Garfield will gladly sit on anything I’m working on, if it’s on the dining room table!
Thanks for joining in. Love the kitty pics. Cute!
Thanks for the set up! I do love showing off the cats almost as much as I do squirrels…
They are so sweet.
Pets on furniture? Every pet parent knows that’s the most ridiculous question ever! Since getting pets I haven’t sat on the sofa in years. Bwahahaha! As for Halloween candy season, I’m actually seeing more Christmas stuff than much of a selection of candy. Guess I better keep my eyes open or I’ll miss it (or rather the trick or treaters will miss getting any from my hosue.
I don’t think our Christmas stuff goes out until next week, but I’ve been off since Monday so who knows what I’ll find when I go back tomorrow. It’s certainly been coming in, though (Not the candy yet… nobody wants to hand out candy canes for Halloween)…
One doesn’t “allow” cats to do anything. They just do it. And if you don’t like it, they give you a look which reminds you that their second cousin is a 200kg tiger with no tolerance for humans…
Or will just claw your throat out while you sleep, which seems to be Ody’s preferred method….
No doubt about your cats having access to furniture…..! I always feel like I’m “borrowing” the chairs and sofa from Ted when I sit down. The flashback “toon” is appropriate too – I’m expecting to see Christmas stuff out any day now even while I’m wading through aisles of Halloween candy!
Pam
Christmas stuff should be out by next week. Fake trees, inflatable snowmen, lighted reindeer, and enough tinsel to decorate all of the trees outside your house! Tis the season…
I’m with you about NOT going to the desert island to begin with. Your choice of theme song fits you, but you know that because you picked it. 🙄
I’ve always thought that was a stupid question…. who would PREPARE to be on a desert island? But I’m a bit nuts anyway since I sleep during the day….
