I Can’t Take It Anymore!

Leave me alone! I’m hibernating…

It has now officially been Spring for a full month according to the almanac.  Heck, even the thirteen-days-behind Julian calendar says it’s time for some warm weather!  For many of us this year, the weather continues to be winterlike with lows below freezing, and daytime highs that will still make your nipples chap.  We’ve even had snowflakes on three different occasions this April, which is just wrong.  I totally get this squirrel… hide your head in the ground, and maybe… just maybe when you finally life it up again, it’ll actually be warm enough to wear only one layer of clothes.  Unfortunately, he’ll probably wake up to find out there was no Spring whatsoever, and the seasons just went straight from winter to summer.  Ugh…

You can run, but you can’t hide from Mother Nature, Mr. Saturday Squirrel….

Have a great weekend everyone, regardless of the weather.

We won’t have a springtime, just right onward into summer heatwaves that melt nipples…

  2. It snowed a bit more than what you have during the night. I will be traveling home today in a storm. With no coat or socks! Eep. 😲

Yep. Winter has overstayed its welcome, and Spring is just flirting with my emotions. Not happy.

He does look a bit down in the dumps.

I’m feeling the same way as this squirrel! We haven’t had snowflakes in a few weeks but the never ending rain has made everything so soggy that damp doesn’t even begin to describe it how it feels outside. It makes the low 40’s we’ve had in the morning feel much colder. I guess I can’t really blame my squirrel friends for being a bit irritable and destructive. They can’t escape this soggy misery!

    • That sounds a lot like how it got here last month. It was so bad, the squirrels were coming out in the rain and the mud because they couldn’t stay holed up forever. Cold and wet weather should be illegal…

  6. Poor baby needs a little bitty fleece blanket.

  7. At least it isn’t snowing or raining. i count that as a blessing of sorts.

    • The irony is that photo was taken during the one week in March when we actually had good weather and it seemed like Spring really was nigh. We’ve had maybe two or three days like that since, and that’s in a five week span. Blech!

  8. We’ve had sun the past two days but what good is that when it’s 30 and you have 35mph wind? Sun is swell but it needs the accompanying WARMTH and that wind just rips it right out of the air. Not fair. I think we ALL want ACTUAL/REAL Spring! Including Mr. Squirrel.

    • The wind has been crazy! There shouldn’t be a wind chill factor when it’s in the 60’s. And the windy day is almost always on recycling day, and guess whose yard the wind blows down the street into!

      • uhoh…….you are a victim of wind – we are too – the wind ALWAYS blows from our neighbors’ yard into ours and that means WE GET THEIR LEAVES…….as if we didn’t have enough of our own!
