This week’s Saturday Squirrel seems to have a look of surprise in his face. What has be possibly seen that would give him the big-eyed look of wonder? Is there another cat on the loose? Maybe his best friend is digging up the nuts he just buried? Perhaps one of the neighbors is out in just his underwear again?
Or maybe……. maybe’s he’s just a little confused by the fact that on the first Saturday of Spring, I’ve posted a picture of a squirrel that was very obviously taken in the Fall! I guess I can’t even get my seasons in the sun straight. But colorful leaves and pretty squirrels look quite beautiful no matter what the calendar says…
Have a great weekend everyone!
I think the big-eyed look is because he simply can’t believe that the guy with the camera is snapping his photo AGAIN. I do like how his head is in the sunshine…..hoping for a last minute tan before Fall really falls I bet!
Pam
I think he’s more likely to change colors with the leaves than get a tan…. but I won’t ruin his hopes by telling him.
I’m falling for that precious squirrel. Toooooooooo cute.
He’s got that fresh faced look to him too. I think this was one of the young squirrels I had running around my yard at the time…
He knows he got busted for doing some hoodlum mischief. 🐿
That face? THAT face? That is the look of pure innocence, which would never be convicted in a court of law…
He would in my ‘hood. There’s really “Wanted” posters hanging all over. Dead meat, I tell you. ☠️
Plus it appears to have been taken 6 years ago. I wonder what this little fella is up to these days?
I would love to believe he’s still up to looking cute and hanging around in the trees, but the lifespan of squirrels in the wild makes that not particularly likely…
That’s a good pic of Mr. Surprise there. Well done.
I’ll let Mr. Surprise take all the credit for this wonderful autumnal portrait…
So cute! I think that might be the widest I’ve ever seen a squirrel’s eye. I wish we could see through that wide eye to see what was so surprising!
I think I’ve got more squirrels recently than birds. I think the birds are nesting and the squirrels look very young, optimistic, and awfully cute!
