Does another Monday morning leave you dreaming on for the weekend? Well, The Nest has another lost hit you’ll go crazy for. This is the day we sort through the toys in the attic to find another great song that has what it takes to be included in the Dusty Vinyl Archive! DJ Scratchy’s not a dude, nor does she look like a lady… while the Sponkie play with their rag doll. If you want to hear today’s earworm, just walk this way…
The megastar rock band from Boston, Aerosmith, is no stranger to The Nest’s music features. One of their songs appeared in each of my first three Top 30 countdowns. I raved about their version of “Come Together” in my Cover Song countdown. I eviscerated the band for the horrific “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” in my Iconic Songs I Can’t Stand countdown. And then we all laughed at the band for their take on the classic “Big Ten Inch Record” in my Novelty Song countdown.
But amazingly, in over 275 episodes now, Aerosmith has yet to get a song on the DVA. Maybe because most of their music, good and bad, is already overplayed. Well, I’m changing that today by picking one of my favorite Aerosmith songs that I rarely get to hear anymore…. maybe because it wasn’t a hit the first time it was released.
Now that’s an excellent rocker with a cool guitar riff, a great bassline, and even some horns thrown in for the fun of it! Somehow, despite being released as a single in 1974, “Same Old Song And Dance” never charted. But despite it’s lack of replay fifty years later, it remains a favorite of both the band and their fans…
And that’s all I have to say about that! Just enjoy the tune, and come back for another lost hit next Monday!
I remember this one, and I like it a lot. Happy Monday and new week! 🙂
YAY! Happy Monday!

Amazing squirrel!!
And not afraid to show his amazingness!
While I’m old enough to remember this one, I don’t. Great beat though and excellent bass line!
Can’t really go wrong with some good old traditional rock and roll!
