That’s What Friends Are For

You need to turn that frown upside down...

You need to turn that frown upside down…

Aw, what’s the matter, little buddy?  Bad day at the nest?  Life been a little nutty?  Did the sqturday squirrel logodog finally catch you by the tail?

There’s no need to be sad….. come on, we don’t need any grumpy, sour squirrels on my blog.  Cheer up!  The year is young…. things will get better!

What’s it going to take to make you smile again?  Is a Saturday Squirrel nod not enough?  Most sciurines would give their left paw for the chance at such an honor!

Don’t make me come down there and cheer you up myself!

OK, I guess that’s what I’m gonna have to do…..

Don't worry, I'm here! Let's go looking for acorns!

Don’t worry, I’m here for you! Come on!  Let’s go looking for acorns together!

A friend in need is a Saturday Squirrel indeed…

Have a great weekend everyone!

Such a sad looking little fellow. My goodness…

If he was living here he would be frozen solid – 19 degrees! I have put food out and some warm water. Bad Canadians – sending us their stinky weather!

    • 19 sounds pretty good right now… I don’t think it got that warm at all yesterday. It was 6 degrees when I woke up….

Sometimes, the Canadian weather is actually better than what comes from the south. Our worst snowstorms come straight outta Baja California (not that it snows there, but by the time it reaches us….). Canadian air is cold, but at least it’s mostly dry!

  3. absolutely… and a shared acorn is a double acorn… or something like that :o)

  4. From what I know about squirrel behavior…they look more like “let’s get ready to rumble!!” LOL
    Happy Saturday.

    • They were involved in a chase before I took those pictures. The chaser was trying to convince the chasee to continue the game, but he wasn’t having any of it. I guess even squirrels get bored with those kind of games…

      • Squirrels are extremely territorial. The chase may have been feeling more of ‘get the hell outa here’ than ‘let’s play a game of tag. Then again it could have been the chasee’s position of ‘not tonight, dear.’ 🐿

  5. All the critters are hiding as our woods fills up with snow. The squirrels are all hunkered down in the nests while visions of acorns dance in their heads … Oh, sorry, wrong holiday. Go Football!

    • If my calendar reckoning is correct, today would be Christmas on the old Julian calendar, which I believe Eastern Orthodox Christians still use… so maybe the visions of acorns isn’t out of season quite yet (Well, that and a lot of my neighbors still have their lights lit up in the evening)…

double aw….that’s what friends are for! (Hey don’t blame the Canadians for all the bad weather!! We are innocent I tell ya!) 😉

Aw, so cute! I love it when one creeps on another one like that. Mr. Grumpy Face doesn’t look like he’s in the mood for such games though!

I thought that expression in the first photo was one of anticipation. He was watching out for his friend to arrive and then he did! Cute 🙂
