Yesterday was the first day of Spring, and what better way to celebrate the changing of the season than with a photo of a cute squirrel in a budding tree! This is one of the photos from the set I got at the park two weeks ago (Which seems like two months ago now), and as you can see, the warmer early March weather had the trees ready to debut their newest foliage. The inspiration for featuring this photo goes to Barb (ghost), who featured tree buds as her flower of the day earlier this week!
I hope you enjoy this first Saturday Squirrel of the Spring, and have a great weekend everyone!
thank you!
You’re very welcome!
Thank you! And happy spring to you too! 🙂
🙂
It doesn’t feel much like spring up here…. but we did have a few large grey squirrels in the yard yesterday so maybe it’s just around the corner.
😊
That sounds like a good sign of Spring to me!
I love this photo, blue and grey, a great combination.
Yes. Outside of America’s Civil War, that is…
Yay for squirrels, spring, and buds on trees! Thanks for the mention!
Happy Saturday! 🙂
I was just looking through my recent photos for a squirrel picture and stopped as soon as I found this one because it reminded me of your post! Thanks for the inspiration…
Have been watching the squirrels here pull the leaf buds off the trees for a snack. We had quite a bunch of squirrels around yesterday after I mowed the lawn for the first time.

I am definitely not looking forward to lawn mowing season… especially since small chunks of the concrete that used to be my kitchen floor are still strewn all over my front yard. The squirrels better take cover the first time I do have to fire up the mower…
Another great pic of a cute squirrel, thank Evil!
No problem, I have many, many more of them to brighten everyone’s day!
So sweet.
Lucky you…our trees are still naked and will be for at least 6 weeks. It’s nice to see the buds are coming….

The buds haven’t really sprouted much yet. My oak out back is still pretty bare. Another couple weeks and I think we’ll finally have leaves to obscure my squirrel photos…
At this point in the year, those buds on the trees are almost as welcome a sight as the squirrels. Almost – not much can beat their cute little faces!
Squirrel face is very hard to outcute…
Wouldn’t it be even cuter if he was wearing a little face mask to keep himself safe…
Obscure that pretty face with a mask? That will be when this Corona nonsense has officially gone too far when they make the squirrels wear a mask…
Spring is just around the corner…and this corner…and this corner…where the heck is it?! At least the sun is shining today! We have a new black squirrel at our place with a white patch on his back–I’m trying to get a picture of him!
If you do get one, please share it!!! I’d even love to feature it on Saturday Squirrel!
Despite a snowstorm the first day of spring, buds are beginning to emerge in the Mile High. With a 180/shift over the weekend and 50s & 60s F forecast this week, no doubt the rush to bud will amp up.
