R Is For…

It’s time to put away your devices while I turn out the lights and present another boring filmstrip full of photos that just happen to share a letter for this Tuesday’s edition of my Photography A to Z challenge!  While it’s still two months shy of the utterly ridiculous Talk Like a Pirate Day, we’re going to be getting plenty of practice saying our R’s today.  Have the parrot on your shoulder repeat these RULES of the challenge after me…

  • Only photos I took myself will be used.
  • All photos used will have been taken without any thought given to this challenge.

Now, let’s see some examples of photos that are rad to the max…

RAINY Skunk enjoying the RAIN we were constantly bombarded with during the month of April.

RUN RABBIT, RUN!!!!!

A ROCK someone painted purple with red polka dots.  I found it on the mailbox down the street a few Friday mornings ago… and yes, it was put there as a part of that stupid Facebook rock fad that whoever created this masterpiece will be disappointed that I can not take part in.  At least Bashful will have company of his own kind if he ever stops by again…

praying raccoon

This RACCOON is a part of my critter collection that is rarely seen on my blog.  The only photo I have of a real raccoon is of a carcass, and I figured you probably didn’t want to see that…

Freshly RE-PAVED ROAD near my house that has only needed the repairs for a couple decades now.  I wish they’d bothered to have done this earlier in my poor car’s life…

RAINBOW DONKEY being RIDDEN by Snuggle Bear.  Poor horsie…

Post-thunderstorm RAINBOW I saw after a ballgame I attended in Arlington, Texas in 2013.  Yes, it’s just that one little piece.  I’ve never had the luck to take a picture of a full rainbow, but I got a very small partial one…

Little RED puddle jumper that was my RENTAL to take on my last trip to Oklahoma in 2014.  I can’t remember what it was, but smaller is better as far as I’m concerned…

Three ROOFERS hardly working on my neighbor’s house…. four months before that roof caught on fire.

The Kansas City ROYALS remind you to be RESPECTFUL.  Lucky for you, I have no such rule on my blog….

Oh my God!

Cleveland’s RALLY Squirrel Shuffle.  I’m saying nothing more…

Anyone want to take a gander at the giant ROACH?

Six of us eight boys in my 6th grade class posed in front of a ROCKET at the Science Center in St. Louis on a field trip.  Yes, I took this picture thirty years ago.  I’m so damned ancient…

And finally, if you made it through this week’s post without your tongue getting stuck to the roof of your mouth, then you may enjoy the most beautiful spectacle that is kitty RASSLIN‘ courtesy of Ody and Spilly.  Brothers do it better…

I’ll return next Tuesday with the 20th installment of the A to Z Challenge, and hopefully won’t SSSSSSSSSSuck…

Finally Rainy gets her gauge filled!
Ooh, that sounded a bit rude…

  2. R is a good letter after all… maybe not really for the rainbow donkey ;O)

  3. Merbear74 says:

If you’re ancient, then I’m even more ancient…my birthday is next month.

  4. franhunne4u says:

Who do you call ancient – next year I celebrate the big – uhm – what was the number in front of the 0 again? Something between 4 and 6, you say? Uhm, ok …

  5. In the words of Ed Sullivan…a reeaally, reeaally good show (yeah I ‘really’ am THAT old).

A FB rock fad? Do I even want to know what that is?

    • I assumed it was a big thing since I first heard of it from a blogger in Texas and later found out it is huge in my hometown. People paint rocks and leave them out for others to find with a note on the bottom to share a picture of the rock on whatever page was set up for rocks to be reported on. It’s……. well, dumb. But then again, about on a par with what i think about other things that FB has made viral over the years….

  8. RIGHT now, I have a wRETCHED headache. I love your RANCID skunks floating through yucky polluted water. Has a certain “je ne sais quoi”!

  9. jarnon says:

Did you see my comment last Friday about Marvel superhero Squirrel Girl?
Well, here’s an even bigger story … squirrel wanted by NYPD!

  10. A veritable parade of interesting “Rs” this week……….What about ToysRus? How about Roy Rogers (they had my fave fast food burger – the “Doubler R Bar”)…….my favorite one in this batch though is incredibly the ugly ROCK you rescued from down the street – I have been AMAZED so many people are doing the paint a rock thing on Facebook. No rock painting around my house for sure – unless you count the fact that Teddy once in a while pees on a rock on his walks around our yard…..which, by the way, is a ROCK HAVEN to the max and the reason we’re struggling with our lawn!

    Later Gator
Pam and Teddy the Rock Pee-er

    • A Peed Rock challenge might be a cool project! I’ll bet you could hook up with Phenny for help with “creating” rocks like that!

No Roy Rogers here… though we do have Toys (Backwards R) Us, which I don’t like since they ran all of the toy stores me and my sisters were taken to back when I was a kid out of business…

Snorts and rolls with piggy laughter. OMP! A rock fad. Who would have come up with something like that? XOXO – Bacon

Rainy would be very cranky if she was spending the summer here. We haven’t had rain since June 17th. I actually miss it! Even after all the rainy record-breaking months we endured this past year.

I love the creativity in using kitty rasslin’ for R. I hardly remember my kitty brothers doing that. Nowadays if they rassle, someone bleeds.
