Never let it be said that squirrels aren’t emotional critters. In the past, you’ve seen photos I’ve taken of squirrels who look happy, angry, excited, sleepy, annoyed, worried, surprised, curious, guilty, cunning and even downright evil.
But not this week’s Saturday Squirrel. He doesn’t look cheerful to see me, nor does he seem very bothered by my taking his picture. Hell, he isn’t even impressed that he’s in perfect focus despite the issues I mentioned the other day about autofocus tending to skip past objects on wires.
“Meh,” says the Meh Squirrel.
Well, alrighty then.
Have a meh…. er, great weekend everyone!
I think he’s trying to decide if you might toss him a peanut or two in payment for his perfect pose for your camera?!
Pam
That would have been an epic toss since he was pretty far away from me at the time (The slight graininess of the photo gives away that I had super zoom on). Plus, throwing food to squirrels on a wire had the potential for danger! Ooh, let’s do it and see what happens!
French Fried Squirrel??
You’d think he be a little more excited being a blog cover squirrel..
Apparently, they’re not happy unless they get royalties…
Ungrateful wretches… I know!
I think he looks sad.
Meh to you, too.
Maybe he got stood up for a date…
Maybe once he realized he’s become famous, he’ll cheer up!
Fame did wonders for Stephen Wright’s personality…
Meh Squirrel needs a good tail fluff. But what a cutie.
I’ll bet he would appreciate that so much. I would hate to get all those rabies shots in my belly, though…
He does look pretty meh. Hopefully something good has happened to him to get him excited or curious about life again!
I can’t imagine that at least fifty exciting things don’t happen to a squirrel in each day of their life. Maybe this poor guy was destined to live out the most possible boring squirrel existence…
Whitey is a meh squirrel too. He’s gotten braver and doesn’t run off when I throw peanuts out the door but he always looks so oddly expressionless. Hopefully he doesn’t still have pain from when Gary chewed on him….
I know I’m cute. Whatever.
Only squirrels could take their cuteness for granted like that…
I dunno…seems like he’s anticipating something. Were you noshing on something when taking that photo?
The only thing being noshed on was my hands. Apparently, there were all kinds of bitey bugs outside my window, and I really paid the price getting these pics for my squirrel (and mourning dove) loving public…
Personally I think “no-see-ums” are worse than mosquitos! Your squirrel loving readers appreciate the lengths you go to satisfy our bottomless desires for cute pics.
