That’s right… it’s almost everyone’s favorite day of the year again! Every year, January 21st is National Squirrel Appreciation Day! A day we set aside to honor our little outdoor furry critters and all of the joy and excitement they bring into our outdoor environment. Make sure to put some special treats out for your squirrels this week to let them know not only that you care about them, but that you appreciate their beauty and their hilarious antics. You will make little fuzzy friends for life! Just look how excited our Saturday Squirrels are this week at the prospect of getting
Have a wonderful weekend, and of course, a Happy National Squirrel Appreciation Day this Tuesday!
Extra treats means filling the bird feeder again, right?
Happy Early Squirrel Appreciation Day!
LOL, it works that way sometimes!
very exciting! are you going to see the new animated squirrel film?
The last time I saw a movie in a theater, the sound was all supplied by an organ player. I am happy to see squirrels getting some Hollywood exposure, though, so long as it doesn’t go to their tiny heads…
I’ll second Beth, and suggest that Jan. 21 is THE DAY for you to go see “The Nut Job.”
I wonder if they knew about SAD when they timed the release of the film?
It may be the entire marketing concept!
Just put a new breeder out to celebrate!!
What? Haha…..bird feeder not breeder. But hey, might be a new occupation….squirrel breeding LOL
I think my squirrels are already good breeders!!! I’ll definitely throw some extra ears of corn out for them, and what they choose to do after dinner is their business… 😉
I will put a nice treat out for Nutty, promise. 🙂
He will love you forever and ever!!! 🙂
Advance Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day since I am busy this week 🙂
Here is a bowl of acorns, nuts, and fruits for all you furry cuties 🙂
Aw, thank you for thinking of the squirrels!
I do love squirrels 🙂
HeeHee defleaing and clean nuts. That will definitely be a popular move.:-D
Well, it would be a good start towards becoming more socially acceptable!
Spreading the word. Supposed to get another cold spell.
Thanks! Maybe some warm blankets along with the extra treats then!
Hey! Happy SAD! May our plans for squirrel domination of the world advance one bird feeder at a time. Have a great day and year. If you do see the new squirrel cartoon, you could write a review.
I don’t think the squirrels will be out to be appreciated today – it’s freakin cold. I’d like to know who keeps ordering this below zero weather because I didn’t!
Yeah, it got bad here too. The temperature dropped 30 degrees overnight, and we’re back in the freezer again all week. yay….
Was it an extra special day for the squirrels and you? I did include this on my January Calendar and hope to remember it next year, too! Thanks for the fun and laughter here! I think that the squirrels were not too happy with the weather but they still liked the peanuts one of my apt. building residents left out!
