Let It Snow

sqturday squirrel logoI have read many, many blog posts that contain the word “squirrel” in it over the past few months, and I have learned that there seems to be a common misconception out there that squirrels hibernate for the winter.  This is not true at all for the common arboreal squirrels we know and love, and since we got our first measurable snowfall of the year last night, I decided to dig deep into the archives for some snowy pictures for this week’s Saturday Squirrel, and found a handful of shots I took of these two playful little critters after some snow we got in March 2011.  I’ll fill in a little storyline here to go with these shots that may or may not be accurate…

Hey! Where are you going? You were going to build me a snowsquirrel!

Hmmm, you know, I do kinda like the view from up here. This is so romantic, you know... I feel like....

Aha!!!  Got you right where I want you, sweetcheeks!!!

We should do this again sometime, Ralph. Like maybe when it's 40 degrees warmer and my teats aren't frozen....

Enjoy your Saturday, whether it’s snowy or not!

They’re even cuter in the snow!

  2. Reminds me of the Sponge Bob episode when Sandy hibernated. (does this mean squirrels don’t hibernate?)

This human squirrel nut seems to desire hibernating this winter, but my furry little friends look lively as ever! 🙂
