Uninvited Guests

Hey! Can’t I eat in peace?

This poor squirrel was trying to take advantage of a nice corn buffet I threw out for him and his pals.  Only a bunch of migrating birds were passing by and decided they would help themselves to the spread as well…

Now I know how Tippi Hedren felt…

Really, how many of you mangy birds are there anyway!?!?

OK, I’m afraid now I’ve pissed them off. Better shut up while I’m ahead…

This week’s Saturday Squirrel is for the birds…

Have a great weekend everyone!

Those grackles are voracious. They empty my feeders in minutes!

  2. Mr. Squirrel looks like he’s concentrating on what’s within reach……which is a good idea – he doesn’t want his paw slapped by a hungry bird.

like when people take cuts in front of you in the buffet line )

  4. Aww what cutie, the squirrel not the damn birds.

  5. BWAHAHAHAH!! Good on ya’ Squirrel, for holding your ground and getting dinner, even with uninvited ‘guests’ barging in and trying to hog the whole cob….!

  6. As long as the birds don’t start swooping and pecking, he’s a bit better off than Tippi … 😉

At least he’s standing his ground!

  8. Our squirrels have never displayed any fear to any of our birds. They are probably afraid of hawks, but regular birds? They just keep eating while the birds keep squawking at them!

    • When I was at the park last week, a giant hawk flew overhead and caught my attention. After trying (and failing) to get a good photo of him, I turned my attention back to all the squirrels who’d been lingering around…. and of course, they all ran into hiding while I was distracted. Talk about clearing out a room!

    Attack, Mr Squirrel, attack!

  10. Looks a bit like the local grocery stores & Costco where people are panic buying any and everything.

  11. Gackles. I think those birds are called Gackles or something like that.
