Hope you had today off and that tomorrow isn’t utter shit for you. We have stayed entirely clear of retail outlets with the exception of the gas station, and those are pretty well always open so I don’t feel bad about going there.
Yes, I am one of the lucky few Mecca employees who gets to entirely avoid the Black Friday mess since it happens on my weekend. I wouldn’t be caught dead near a store on Black Friday, although oddly enough, I bought my car on that day 13 years ago. Best After Thanksgiving purchase I ever made…

Is the movie “A Christmas Story” a huge deal down under like it is here? It’s about 30 years old, but it went from being a little known film to a cult holiday classic about a decade ago, and now it makes a ton of money in licensed Xmas merchandise every year. I mention the movie because it probably has the most famous tongue stuck on the pole scene in American pop culture….

I did not… but it wouldn’t have been as fun this year anyway because the three big sales all occurred before or after my crew’s shift. My co-workers who did have to go in Thursday night basically did nothing but clean up from the unholy disaster that followed the 6 PM and 8 PM sales…
